New Dystopian Law Would Give All Social Media Users a ‘Truth Score’

Another manifestation of the social credit score rears its ugly head.

In another manifestation of the onerous ‘social credit score’ system, an amendment to a bill in the UK would mandate all social media users be given a ‘truth score’ that pre-determines the accuracy of their posts.

The amendment has been proposed to be added to the already odious ‘Online Safety Bill’, which would censor “legal but harmful” content, and was introduced by Conservative Party lawmaker John Penrose.

“Like something out of dystopian fiction, Penrose, the MP for Weston-super-Mare, has proposed that the government forces online platforms to maintain a score of how truthful a person is, determined by their past statements,” writes Dan Frieth.

The amendment states that any users who have “produced user-generated content,” published news or merely posted “comments” or “reviews” should be ranked by the platform in question, with a score given denoting their “historic factual accuracy.”

The rules would apply to anyone who receives a certain threshold of online views, with that figure to be determined by the UK communications regulator OFCOM.

The user’s posts would then be “displayed in a way which allows any user easily to reach an informed view of the likely factual accuracy of the content at the same time as they encounter it.”

In other words, the new law would empower far-left social media platforms, under threat of government fines, to apply ‘misinformation’ scores to the profiles of right-leaning users, with the potential that such negative labels would then impact algorithmic performance.

This would basically represent a dramatic expansion of ‘misinformation’ labels and partisan ‘fact checks’ that are already applied to individual posts, extending them to people.

Meanwhile, in a related story, group of senior Conservatives, including Lord Frost, have warned that the Online Safety Bill will lead to brazen censorship of political opinions.

“The ratcheting effect on our civil liberties is already happening in real time,” states a letter addressed to Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries. “The Labour Party has expressed its intention to expand the regulatory framework to include ‘health-related misinformation and disinformation’.”

“This could lead to the state designating social media companies as the arbiter of truth online and presents serious problems for freedom of speech,” the letter warns.

Sam Harris Rage Quits Twitter Days After Claiming Hunter Biden Laptop Story Was Right “By Accident”

Musk announces that all internal Twitter communications about censoring the laptop story from 2020 will be made public

Lefty ‘philosopher’ Sam Harris has deleted his Twitter account, just days after he claimed that the New York Post report on the infamous Hunter Biden laptop was correct “by accident,” a comment that renewed scrutiny of Harris’ previous comments that he supported censorship of the story.

Harris complained on the Bill Maher podcast that he was being harassed by ‘right wing lunatics’ on Twitter in regards to his previous comments that he would still have supported censoring the story even if Hunter Biden had “the corpses of dead children in his basement,” as a way of preventing a second Trump term.

Now Harris’ Twitter account, which had 1.5 million followers, is gone:

It isn’t clear whether Harris quit Twitter in response to reporting on his comments, or whether Elon Musk’s ‘voice of the people’ inspired decision to reinstate Trump and grant a general amnesty to others spurred the move, or both.

Either way, he’s taken his ball home.

Rest assured, you’ll still hear about Harris’ philosophical insights, like this for example:

Harris follows the likes of other lefty celebrities including Whoopi Goldberg, Gigi Hadid, and Jack White who have all rage quit the platform in recent days.

Interestingly, Musk is saying that he intends to make public all internal discussions about the censoring of the Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story, noting “this is necessary to restore public trust.”

Musk also announced some details on the new $8 Twitter verification system:

Elon Musk Announces General Amnesty BUT Twitter T&C’s Say ‘Denial Of Violent Events’ Will Not Be Tolerated

Did Musk mean to write ‘being Alex Jones will not be tolerated’?

Following the result of another Twitter poll indicating that over 70% want to see a general amnesty for suspended Twitter users, Elon Musk has announced that it will begin next week, but it appears there are some major caveats.

Musk again said “the people have spoken,” and used the Latin phrase “vox populi, vox dei,” meaning “the voice of the people is the voice of God”.

It means that accounts that didn’t break the law or spam egregiously will be reinstated, according to Musk.

The amnesty announcement immediately triggered the media into declaring that a bunch of ‘online safety experts’ are warning that “lives are at risk.”

The overlord experts are panicking about “a rise in harassment, hate speech and misinformation.”

At the same time this was all unfolding, Musk tweeted out several posts regarding ‘hate speech’.

It is now clear that those terms were, shall we say, somewhat broad. So will they all remain in place after the amnesty?

    It isn’t clear.

    And then there is this…

This just led to more questions…

Is this really new? Did Musk add this?

    What does it actually mean?

‘Vox Populi, Vox Dei’: Elon Musk Says General Amnesty For Suspended Accounts ‘Begins Next Week’

Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Thanksgiving Day announced that a general amnesty for suspended Twitter users who haven’t “broken the law or engaged in egregious spam” will begin “next week.”

Musk posted a poll on Wednesday asking, “Should Twitter offer a general amnesty to suspended accounts, provided that they have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam?”

With over 3 million votes, 72.4% of users said “Yes” versus just 27.6% who said “No.”

“The people have spoken,” Musk announced after the poll closed. “Amnesty begins next week. Vox Populi, Vox Dei.”

Musk said on Tuesday that his plan to have a “content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints” was crafted because “a large coalition of political/social activist groups” (see: the Anti-Defamation League and their cronies) “agreed not to try to kill Twitter by starving us of advertising revenue if I agreed to this condition” but “they broke the deal” by immediately organizing an advertiser boycott against him.

Musk on Saturday told ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt, who ordered the boycott, to “stop defaming me!”

Greenblatt last month threatened Musk with “dire consequences” if he replatformed “dangerous individuals” like Donald Trump, Alex Jones, Nick Fuentes, Steve Bannon, Andrew Tate and David Duke.

Musk already unbanned Donald Trump and Andrew Tate and it’s looking like he may let everyone else back on too.

    Happy Thanksgiving, bros!
