Italy to Start Rationing Energy to ‘Support Ukraine’

From next month onwards, Italy will begin rationing electricity to ‘support Ukraine’, with public buildings banned from running air conditioning at lower than 25 degrees or heating higher than 19 degrees.

Yes, really.

The plan is being dubbed ‘Operation Thermostat’ and is being hailed as the example for Italians to follow in their own private homes.

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi promoted the campaign by asking, “Do we want to have peace or do we want to have the air conditioning on?”

Presumably, the ‘price of peace’ is now a permanent reduction in your quality of life.

“I’m not exactly sure how adjusting your thermostat is going to achieve ‘peace’, but hey we’re living in the age of sentimental manipulation over reason, so – just believe,” comments Kit Knightly.

“There’s no talk yet of this kind of energy-rationing rule extending to private businesses or homes, but a marker has been set down. Expect other nations to follow suit.”

Knightly explains how the narrative that people need to ration their energy use (which is already happening thanks to soaring prices caused by the sanctions imposed on Russia) has been seamlessly transferred from the less convincing ‘save the planet’ argument to the ‘support Ukraine’ ubiquitous virtue signal.

Of course, under the Great Reset, serfs on the globalist plantation are being asked to reduce their living standards, while elitists and technocrats who set the policies will continue to enjoy first class travel, the best food on offer, and every imaginable luxury comfort.

Meanwhile, four in ten Brits face falling into fuel poverty when the price cap rises again in October.

Upper middle class people who live in rich enclaves of England will however continue to happily pay higher energy prices while flying ‘I stand with Ukraine’ flags.

They can afford it, unlike most of the rest of the country.

Video: Biden Admits Sky Rocketing Energy Prices Are Part Of Green “Transition”

“We’re going through an incredible transition”

Joe Biden let the veil slip Monday, telling reporters gathered at a press conference in Tokyo that unaffordable gas prices in the U.S. are part of a deliberate “transition” to green energy.

Suddenly, Vladimir Putin isn’t to blame anymore as a reporter asked if a U.S. recession is unavoidable.

Struggling to speak coherently, Biden said “When it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that God willing when it’s over we’ll be stronger.”

“The world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” Biden added.

Biden also claimed he attempted to combat soaring prices by releasing 180 million barrels of oil from emergency stockpiles in late March, but admitted that it hasn’t had any effect.

Watch:

The average price of a gallon of gas has hit $4.59 nationwide, up from $4.11 in April, according to AAA.

In places like Los Angeles it’s hitting high above $7:

They have a strategy though right?

Top Putin Aide Predicts “Global Famine” by the End of This Year

    Humanitarian disaster looming.

A top aide to Vladimir Putin has predicted a “global famine” that will occur before the end of the year as a result of worldwide grain shortages caused by the war in Ukraine.

Maksim Oreshkin asserts that the United States’ attempt to takeover Ukraine’s grain reserves is going to lead to a humanitarian disaster.

“It is important that in the conditions, for example, of a global famine that will occur closer to autumn, by the end of this year all over the world, Russia should not suffer, but be fully provided with food,” Oreshkin said.

Oreshkin blamed inflation caused by the Federal Reserve overprinting the dollar since 2020 as one of the causes, but also zeroed in on the Biden’s administration’s more recent actions in Ukraine.

“In fact, what America is trying to do with Ukraine now is to take out the grain reserves that Ukraine currently has in its possession – just another action that dooms Ukraine to serious humanitarian problems, but also dooms the global community to having big problems with hunger,” he warned.

Russia and Ukraine account for almost a third of the world’s wheat exports, with sanctions on Russia and the war in Ukraine having led to a 60 per cent price surge so far this year.

As we previously highlighted, Italian League party leader Matteo Salvini has warned that if the war in Ukraine is not brought to a conclusion by the end of this month, chronic food shortages will cause an immigration wave that will lead to 20 million African migrants trying to enter Europe.

“Significant hunger is expected on the African continent, which will be a humanitarian, then a social, and finally an Italian problem,” said Salvini.

“Without peace there will be famine in the autumn and 20 million Africans will be ready to go,” he added.

British TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson, who owns a farm which was the basis for his hit Amazon Prime show Clarkson’s Farm, warned in a Sunday Times piece that farmers in the UK are letting their fields go fallow.

“The problem is that next year many farmers will decide that, because of the costs involved, they’ll use less fertiliser,” he wrote. “Some will doubtless try to use none at all. Others will try to use cardboard or lawn clippings or faeces instead. Either way they will produce less food. Some farmers — I know of three in my area alone — have already decided to fallow their fields next year and grow nothing at all.”

“And this is not just happening in the UK. It’s a global phenomenon and it could well result in there being maybe 20 per cent less food in the shops than is necessary. That’s bad. And then it gets worse because, between them, Russia and Ukraine grow more than a quarter of global wheat exports.”

Clarkson fears that the world is “hurtling down a well-watered slide into the pit of hunger, misery and death.”

TV Presenter Warns Global Food Shortages Will Lead to Cannibalism

And he only appeared to be half-joking.

TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson said that global food shortages caused by the war in Ukraine could eventually lead to cannibalism, and he only appeared to be half-joking.

The Grand Tour presenter, who owns a famous farm shop in the Cotswolds, made the comments in his latest Sunday Times piece.

Clarkson said the situation caused by the war in Ukraine was leading him to suffer sleepless nights and “a few chin-scratching moments of despair.”

The former Top Gear presenter, who also owns a farm which was the basis of his hit Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm, says more and more farmers in the UK are allowing their fields to lie fallow due to soaring fertiliser costs.

Clarkson worries the world is “hurtling down a well-watered slide into the pit of hunger, misery and death.”

He also slammed the government for failing to adequately respond to the cost of living crisis and cautioned that people can “live without heat or clothing or even sex,” but that “they cannot live without food.”

“Hunger makes people eat their neighbours,” wrote Clarkson.

Some food products, including sunflower oil, are already being rationed in the UK due to Ukraine being a major source for sunflower seeds.

As we highlighted earlier, Italian League party leader Matteo Salvini warned that worsening food shortages could cause 20 million African migrants to flood Europe if a ceasefire in Ukraine is not agreed by the end of this month.

“Without peace there will be famine in the autumn and 20 million Africans will be ready to go,” he said.

In his article, Clarkson pointed out that “nearly a third of the wheat Ukraine grows goes to Africa, and it won’t be getting any this summer,” warning that the existing migrant crisis will represent a “trickle” compared to the tsunami that could be around the corner.
