Health Experts: Obesity Fuelling Vastly Higher COVID Death Toll

This won’t sit well with the ‘body positivity’ movement

Health experts have warned that there is a direct correlation between obesity and higher COVID-19 death tolls across the globe, findings that will not jive well with the woke trend to promote being overweight as ‘body positivity’.

The London Telegraph reports that a study of 100 countries by the World Obesity Federation found that 2.2 million of 2.5 million deaths occurred in countries with high levels of obesity.

The study noted that death rates were discovered to be 10 times higher in nations where more than 50% the population was overweight. 

According to the study, in countries without obesity problems, the death rate from the virus was no higher than 10 per 100,000 population.

“We now know that an overweight population is the next pandemic waiting to happen,” noted Dr Tim Lobstein, the author of the report, senior policy adviser to the World Obesity Federation and visiting professor at the University of Sydney.

Britain, which has the third highest COVID death rate in the world, also has fourth highest obesity rate. On the flip side, Vietnam has one of the lowest levels of obesity in the world, and also has the lowest COVID death rate.

The new study backs up findings from Lancet published research last year which noted that obesity increases the risk of death from Covid-19 by around 50 per cent.

The findings have prompted stark warnings from the World Health Organisation, with Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director-general noting “This report must act as a wake-up call to governments globally. The correlation between obesity and mortality rates from Covid-19 is clear and compelling.”

The CDC has also warned that obesity is a clear factor in coronavirus death rates.

All of these scientific facts will likely be ignored by the ‘body positivity’ movement, which promotes being obese as a civil rights cause.

Multinational companies, big tech and the entertainment industry are all on board with the ludicrous woke ideology, with the likes of Instagram promoting obesity while simultaneously refusing content that encourages maintaining healthy fit bodies.

Anyone who dares to promote a healthy lifestyle or campaign against junk food addiction is labeled a ‘fat shamer’:

However, studies also show that fat shaming works.

A wide ranging study by obesity experts in 2014 found that a “desire to improve self-worth” was one of the most important motivating factors encouraging people to lose weight.

The fact is if you’re fat, you are 50% more likely to die from COVID.

Obesity is linked to a myriad of other horrendous, life-threatening diseases and conditions, including high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, gallbladder disease, and osteoarthritis.

Promoting ‘fat acceptance’ is as ludicrous as promoting ‘smoker positivity’.

Fake Meat Sales Plummet On High Prices, Woke Messaging

A few years ago, life was good for the fake meat industry. Beyond Meat had been given vast amounts of real estate in grocery stores, and had scored a deal with Burger King to sell “Impossible” Whoppers. McDonald’s rolled out a McPlant burger (which was quietly shelved last month). Snarky woke advertisements permeated the airwaves and interwebs as plant-based ‘meats’ were on the rise. In fact, Beyond Meat waas valued at over $10bn in 2019, more than Macy’s or Xerox –with the most bullish investors claiming that plant-based meat would make up 15% of all meat sales by 2030. 

Now, as Bloomberg reports, the fake meat industry is getting ground into hamburger – and that doesn’t include cannibalistic nose-biting execs, according to Deloitte Consulting, LLC.

Sales of refrigerated meat alternatives at retailers are down 10.5% by volume for the 52-weeks ending September 4, 2022, according to data from Information Resources Inc., or IRI. While higher prices are the top reason for the slide, it’s not the only one, according to Jonna Parker, a fresh food specialist at the market research company. -Bloomberg

“Proteins that were cheaper on a price-per-pound basis did fare better,” said Parker, who noted that semi-vegetarian shoppers who used to opt for the alternative product will now choose the less-expensive real thing. In short, people are less willing to pay a premium for fake meat, especially considering that ‘taste and health concerns’ are playing a role.

According to Deloitte, the fake meat industry has a perception problem. Based on a July survey of 2,000 consumers, there’s been a decline in the belief that plant-based meat is actually healthier and environmentally sustainable vs. meat from animals.

Despite the increasing alarm over climate change, the number of Americans who are vegetarian or vegan has remained relatively stable over the last 20 years. About 5% of Americans in 2018 said they are vegetarian, while 3% are vegan, according to a Gallup poll.

Even when participants in a study conducted at Purdue University in Indiana were given information about the carbon footprint of meat production, participants were more likely to go with regular meat over a plant-based alternative.

Bhagyashree Katare, an author of the study, said that participants may have been put off by the taste of plant-based meat and the fact that it is not necessarily a healthier alternative to regular meat. Many plant-based meat alternatives are comparable to their real meat counterparts in nutritional content. That it costs about the same as meat also diminishes its attractiveness to consumers. -The Guardian

If I’m spending money in a restaurant, and I’m a meat eater, why would I spend money on plant-based meat? I would rather eat an actual burger,” said Katare. “It’s a technology, and it takes a long time for people to trust the technology and adopt it. I think that’s where plant-based meat is. Maybe the technology will improve, and it will get better health-wise.”

What’s more, the actual market may be much smaller than previously thought – which coincides with a ‘growing cultural resistance to its “woke” status’ – even among people who are trying in earnest to reduce their consumption of red meat.

For example, when Cracker Barrel announced they were adding Impossible Foods’ sausage to its menu over the summer, it faced fierce opposition via social media.

As The Guardian notes, the McDonald’s McPlant burger was shelved last month, as the push to get US meat eaters to switch to plant-based alternatives has proven a challenge.

Multiple chains that partnered with the company, including McDonald’s, have quietly ended trial launches. In August, the company laid off 4% of its workforce after a slowdown in sales growth. Last week, its chief operating officer was reportedly arrested for biting another man on the nose during a road rage confrontation.

It’s a dramatic reversal of fortune. Just two years ago, Beyond Meat, its competitor Impossible Foods and the plant-based meat industry at large seemed poised to start a food revolution. -Guardian

“The bulls in the industry, I think, had a very wild, very optimistic estimate of how big the market could get,” said Mizuho Securities analyst John Baumgartner. “There was a lot of exuberance in this category. It was new, it was different, it was on trend.”

“But the consumer environment is tough, and this stuff is not cheap,” he added.

Year-to-date, Beyond Meat stock is down 77%, and is valued at less than $900 million.

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, Who Claimed Vax Was “100% Effective,” Catches Covid For Second Time in 2 Months

Quadruple-vaccinated Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, who claimed back in April 2021 that his company’s mRNA covid vaccine “was 100% effective in preventing covid,” announced Saturday that he has come down with covid for the second time in two months. 

“I have tested positive for COVID,” Bourla said on Twitter. “I’m feeling well & symptom free. I’ve not had the new bivalent booster yet, as I was following CDC guidelines to wait 3 months since my previous COVID case which was back in mid-August. While we’ve made great progress, the virus is still with us.”

Bourla revealed his previous covid diagnosis less than six weeks ago on August 15th.

In November, Bourla said those who spread “misinformation” about his experimental mRNA covid injections are “criminals.”

“Those people are criminals,” Bourla told the Atlantic Council. “They’re not bad people. They’re criminals because they have literally cost millions of lives … The only thing that stands between the new way of life and the current way of life is, frankly, hesitancy to vaccinations.”

Claiming covid vaccines would not stop the spread of covid was previously considered “misinformation” but is now accepted fact. The shots not only do not stop the spread of covid but people who took the shots keep catching covid over and over again.

Bourla would have had us thrown in prison for claiming his experimental mRNA injection didn’t work. 

Where’s the apology for this fraud? Where’s the mea culpa? 

When are “criminals” like Bourla who spread “misinformation” about their shots’ effectiveness to boost their stock and sell their crap “vaccines” going to be forced to pay out damages to the vax injured and those who lost their jobs for refusing these jabs? 

A great crime took place with these forced injections and the perpetrators need to be held accountable.

Video: Hospital Runs Myocarditis In Kids Awareness Commercial As If It’s A Common Illness

The New York-Presbyterian Hospital is running a commercial in an effort to raise awareness of myocarditis in children, seemingly suggesting that inflammation of the heart in children is a common condition.

The video, titled “Pediatric Patient Story – Suri” tells the story of a child who “had a bad stomach ache that turned out to be myocarditis, a serious inflammation of the heart.”

The video caption states that “Our multidisciplinary pediatric critical care team worked to regulate her heartbeat – and got her back to feeling like herself.”

Myocarditis cases in children are rare, with studies indicating that in children there are 1 to 2 per 100,000, usually stemming from cold viruses. The majority of those cases resolve on their own or with treatment.

So why the sudden need to raise awareness?

Likely because data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) shows how reports of myocarditis and pericarditis related to vaccines exploded in 2021 and 2022.

In previous years, there basically were no cases relating to vaccines.

VAERS has been criticised in relation to details on myocarditis, however a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) earlier this year definitely linked the development of myocarditis and pericarditis to the mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccinations.

The study found that the cases are highest in boys and young men.
