Lockdown Prevented as Many as 740,000 Urgent Cancer Care Referrals

Medics warn of “biggest catastrophe ever.”

People avoiding hospitals or being unable to obtain healthcare due to lockdown prevented as many as 740,000 urgent cancer care referrals in the UK, it has been revealed.

Medics are warning of “the biggest cancer catastrophe ever to hit the NHS” after a report by the report by the National Audit Office (NAO) found that from the start of the pandemic “millions of people have avoided seeking, or been unable to obtain, healthcare.”

“By June 2021, NHS cancer services activity had recovered to pre-pandemic levels. However, in September 2021 only 68% of patients requiring treatment within 62 days of urgent referral by their GP were receiving that treatment on time,” the NAO said.

In total, between 240,000 and 740,000 urgent referrals for suspected cancer cases were missed.

The report also warned that with the flood of missing referrals returning to place a further burden on the system, the waiting list could grow to 12 million by March 2025.

Catchup With Cancer co-founder Professor Pat Price described the situation as “frightening.”

“There is a deadly cocktail of delays across the board, a regional lottery of cancer inequality and a growing cancer backlog. And it feels like the Government and NHS leaders have their heads in the sand,” she said.

While people who oppose face masks, lockdown measures and other interventions are routinely blamed for exacerbating COVID deaths, vehement advocates for lockdown rarely ever face condemnation for supporting policies that have drastically increased excess deaths.

We previously highlighted the comments of Richard Sullivan, professor of cancer and global health and director of its Institute of Cancer Policy, who said that missed cancer treatments would claim more lives than COVID over the medium to long term.

“The number of deaths due to the disruption of cancer services is likely to outweigh the number of deaths from the coronavirus itself over the next five years,” said Sullivan.

“The cessation and delay of cancer care will cause considerable avoidable suffering,” said Sullivan. “Cancer screening services have stopped, which means we will miss our chance to catch many cancers when they are treatable and curable, such as cervical, bowel and breast.”

Germany Detects Four Cases of Omicron in the Fully Vaccinated

Highest death toll in 9 months despite mask mandates, vaccine passports.

Germany has detected four cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, all of whom were fully vaccinated.

Reuters reports: “Four people in southern Germany have tested positive for the Omicron COVID-19 variant even though they were fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, the public health office in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg said.”

“Three of the infected people returned from a business trip to South Africa on Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 respectively, and the fourth person is a family member of one of the returnees. All four showed moderate symptoms.”

As we previously highlighted, according to the Botswana government, the Omicron variant was first detected in four people who were fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Germany also recorded its highest COVID death toll for 9 months, despite having mask mandates and stringent rules in many regions that banned the unvaccinated from numerous venues.

446 deaths recorded is the highest figure since February 18th as hospitals warned there could be 6,000 people in intensive care by Christmas, which would be more than last winter.

The solution, as ever, is to impose yet more draconian restrictions, with the closure of bars, stadiums and other venues now on the table.

Germany will also vote on following Austria in making the vaccine mandatory and imposing large fines and prison sentences on those who refuse.

Meanwhile, an Israeli doctor revealed that he had been infected with Omicron despite being triple vaccinated also wearing a mask.

Still, I guess the 10th booster shot might do something to stop it.

All Confirmed Cases of Omicron in Europe Are People Who Are “Asymptomatic or With Mild Symptoms”

Dire warnings about new variant looking increasingly alarmist.

Out of the 44 confirmed cases of the Omicron variant discovered in Europe, all of them are “asymptomatic or people with mild symptoms,” according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

The ECDC released a statement earlier today declaring, “So far, no severe cases or deaths have been reported among these cases.”

Alarmists have attempted to cite South Africa’s relatively young population (average age 27) in an effort to dismiss findings by health chiefs that cases there have only been “mild.”

However, given that a similar pattern has now been observed on a different continent, that argument is losing credibility.

Despite concerns that the variant could be more harmful to the elderly, some have asserted that booster jabs need to be pushed for 18-year-olds, an argument that also makes no sense.

Numerous countries across the world have imposed new restrictions based on initial warnings that the new variant could be worse than delta, including in England where masks have been made compulsory in numerous public settings.

Dr Jenny Harries, the current head of NHS Test and Trace, also seized on the new variant to urge Brits to stop socialising over Christmas.

As we highlighted earlier, University of Oxford Professor Jim Naismith asserted that despite England dropping its mask mandate in July and Scotland keeping its rules in force, official data shows this “has made no meaningful difference” to infection rates.

“In both countries very high levels of prevalence have continued for months. Thus the new changes announced are unlikely to have much of an impact if Omicron does indeed spread rapidly,” he added.
