Trump’s Own Cabinet Considering 25th Amendment To Impeach, Bar 2nd Term

Democrats urge Pence “For the sake of our democracy, we emphatically urge you to invoke the 25th Amendment and begin the process of removing President Trump from power”

Following the chaos that unfolded at the Capitol building Wednesday, reports are circling that members of President Trump’s own cabinet, as well as lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, are considering invoking the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office and, more importantly, bar him from seeking a second term in office.

CBS News, among others, reported that cabinet members have been discussing invoking the amendment that is reserved for when the president is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.”

The 25th provides the vice president and ‘a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress’ the ability to remove the president from office.

Impeachment under the 25th amendment would effectively bar Trump from being able to seek a second term in office in 2024.

Democratic representatives have sent a letter to Mike Pence requesting that he invoke the amendment, according to NBC News.

 The Democrats wrote “Even in his video announcement this afternoon, President Trump revealed that he is not mentally sound and is still unable to process and accept the results of the 2020 election.”

“President Trump’s willingness to incite violence and social unrest to overturn the election results by force clearly meet this standard,” the letter continued, adding “so too are his recent tweets, which Twitter has since deleted, saying the election was ‘stolen’ and that today’s riots ‘are the things and events that happen.”

“For the sake of our democracy, we emphatically urge you to invoke the 25th Amendment and begin the process of removing President Trump from power,” the letter concludes.

The notion is also being pushed by prominent lobbyists.

The National Association of Manufacturers head Jay Timmons stated that “Vice President Pence, who was evacuated from the Capitol, should seriously consider working with the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to preserve democracy.”

“The outgoing president incited violence in an attempt to retain power, and any elected leader defending him is violating their oath to the Constitution and rejecting democracy in favor of anarchy,” Timmons said, adding “This is not law and order. This is chaos. It is mob rule. It is dangerous. This is sedition and it should be treated as such.”

While the 25th is being secretly debated in Congress, former US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis went one further by suggesting that President Trump should face exile.

For four years, Trump opponents have been calling for the 25th amendment to be invoked, with the likes of CNN even advocating for a new amendment to the Constitution to prevent Trump or anyone like him from ever taking office again.

Reports are also now circling that multiple White House officials are planning to resign.

During an interview with Glenn Beck, President Trump vowed that if he is reelected he will ‘lock up’ those who are trying to politically destroy him despite being completely corrupt themselves.

Referring to Hillary Clinton, Beck noted “You said in 2016, you know, ‘lock her up.’ And then when you became president, you said, ‘We don’t do that in America.’ That’s just not the right thing to do.”

The host continued, “That’s what they’re doing. Do you regret not locking her up? And if you’re president again, will you lock people up?”

Trump responded in the affirmative and noted “Well, I’ll give you an example. Uh, the answer is you have no choice because they’re doing it to us.”

Trump continued, “I always had such great respect for the office of the president and the presidency… And I never hit Biden as hard as I could have. And then I heard he was trying to indict me and it was him that was doing it.”

“I don’t think he’s sharp enough to think about much, but he was there and he was probably the one giving the order,” Trump continued, adding “But he was, you know, hard to believe that he even thinks about that because he’s gone. But then I said, well, they’re actually trying to indict me because every one of these indictments is him, including Bragg.”

“I don’t know if you know this, he put his top person into the office of the Manhattan district attorney. They’ve been in total coordination with Fani Willis,” Trump further asserted, adding “The woman that I never met, that they accused me of rape, that’s being run by a Democrat, a Democrat operative, and paid for by the Democrat party.”

“You know, so many these days, I have a couple of other lawsuits all funded against me by the Democrats. But these are sick people. These are evil people,” Trump concluded.

Trump’s comments come after he issued an ultimatum to Congressional Republicans Sunday, to either impeach Joe Biden or “fade into oblivion.”

    Former President Donald Trump’s campaign has raised $7.1 million since he surrender himself into custody at the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.

    Trump surrendered himself into custody after being indicted alongside 18 others in a 98-page, 41-count indictment by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Notably, Fulton County made Trump take a mugshot, marking his first mugshot of the four criminal cases he currently faces.

    Trump returned to Twitter for the first time in two years on Thursday, posting a photo of his mugshot and a link directing his supporters to donate to his campaign. 

    “If you are doing poorly due to the sinister people in control of our country right now, don’t even think about donating,” Trump’s webpage read. “But if you can, please make a contribution to evict Crooked Joe Biden from the White House and SAVE AMERICA during this dark chapter in our nation’s history.”

    Trump’s campaign also sold merchandise with photos of the mugshot that had the tagline “NEVER SURRENDER!”

    Friday saw the highest grossing fundraising day of Trump’s campaign thus far, with $4.18 million raised, according to Trump adviser Steven Cheung.

    In a rousing Speech Saturday at the Turning Point Action conference in West Palm Beach, Donald Trump told young American voters that the upcoming election will be their opportunity to choose whether or not they continue to live in a free country.

    “This election will decide whether your generation inherits a fascist country or a free country—whether you will have the rule of tyrants or the rule of law,” Trump told those gathered, adding “whether Marxist radicals burn our civilization to the ground, which they’re looking to do, or young patriots like you propel America to glorious new heights like never before.”

    Vowing to oust “Crooked Joe Biden,” Trump asserted that “Under Biden, hope and opportunity for young people are being utterly extinguished.”

    “In the Biden economy, one-third of Gen Z and millennials have no savings whatsoever. Home ownership has been pushed out of reach for millions, with the rate for a 30-year mortgage up 157% since I left office. Real wages collapsed 26 months in a row. Typical Americans have seen their incomes crushed by $7,400 a year since Biden took office, the biggest pay cut in decades,” Trump continued.

    Trump further declare that “Our rights and our liberties are being torn to shreds,” adding that “the greatest threat are the sick sinister and evil forces trying to destroy our nation from within.”

    “The American dream is dead under Biden, we will have it back very soon,” Trump promised.

    The 45th President also said he intends to “choke off” funding for education institutes guilty of a “Marxist assault on our heritage.”

    “Anti-American radicals will no longer be given a free hand to dominate our institutions of higher education,” he promised, adding “The days of subsidizing Communist indoctrination in our colleges will soon be over.”

    Concluding the wide ranging speech, Trump urged “This is what we must do to restore our country to greatness. 2024 is our final battle. With you at my side, we will demolish the Deep State.”

    He further vowed “We will expel the warmongers from our government, we will drive out the globalists, we will cast out the Communists, Marxists, and Fascists, we will throw off the sick political class that hates our country, we will rout the fake news media, we will defeat Joe Biden, and we will Drain the Swamp once and for all.”
