In news that will come as no surprise to anyone, but needs to be highlighted, leftists everywhere are hyperventilating and celebrating at President Trump’s announcement that he and the First Lady have tested positive for Covid-19.
Trump broke the news late Thursday:
Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 2, 2020
It has been noted that this positive test could indicate that Trump and his wife had the virus months ago and never exhibited symptoms.
Nevertheless, for leftists all their christmases have come at once:
full offense I hope donald trump dies

The very upset people on the right coming after me for addressing how delicious it is that Trump has corona virus are realllly ignoring the other several million now that their special little guy has it. At least they take it seriously for SOMEBODY

CNN immediately started debating who is going to take over the presidency now that Trump is “suffering from a deadly virus”:

Trump never said “inject bleach”, or that the virus is a “hoax” but when leftists decide he said something that’s all that matters:
Have you tried injecting Bleach?
I hear the smartest man said it's a good idea? pic.twitter.com/bNLBISROX2

How can you test positive for something that is a Democratic hoax?
Why did you even take a test, as I thought you said that if you don’t get tested you can’t get it?

This guy claims to be a doctor. What kind of doctor celebrates sickness?
I have ZERO sympathy for you or your family. As an ER doc, I've lost 3 colleagues and a 27 y.o. healthy cousin to this virus. You're the reason 207,000 Americans are dead and over 1,200 healthcare workers. You've failed AMERICA. I can't wait to VOTE YOU OUT!!!

Others had a more nuanced take:

I'm glad Trump has COVID, I hope he doesn't die. The people have to decide for themselves that people like Trump cannot be trusted. Him dying solves one problem when him being proved wrong solves and prevents many.

Pew Survey Finds COVID Has Virtually Disappeared as a Major Concern For Americans
It’s over, but some restrictions remain.

Illustrating how the issue has largely disappeared, a new poll of Americans finds COVID to be the least of their concerns out of a list of 12 different subjects.
The survey was conducted by Pew Research between April 25-May 1.
Just 19 per cent of respondents said COVID was still a “very big problem,” while 31 per cent said it was a “small problem” and a further 12 per cent said it was “not a problem at all.”
In comparison, 70 per cent of Americans said inflation was a “very big problem,” with a further 23 per cent describing it as a “moderately big problem.”
Here's the latest pew research on the top 12 things Americans are concerned about. Funny, I don't see Ukraine anywhere on that list. pic.twitter.com/uqCYyKu2nU
— Catturd ™ (@catturd2) May 13, 2022
Ten other issues, including violent crime, illegal immigration and the condition of infrastructure, all rank above COVID-19 in terms of being more of a concern.
As one commentator observed, the war in Ukraine appears nowhere on the list, although Pew chose not to include it as an option.
“Democrats are nearly four times as likely as Republicans to rate climate change as a very big problem (63% vs. 16%),” reports Pew. “Republicans, by contrast, are far more likely than Democrats to view illegal immigration as a very big problem (65% vs. 19%).”
Despite the pandemic virtually being over, numerous states are still enforcing indoor mask mandates and other COVID restrictions that refuse to die.
As we highlighted yesterday, Broadway star Patti LuPone launched an angry rant at an audience member for not wearing a mask properly during a Q&A session despite the fact that she wasn’t wearing one inside the theater.

Broadway Star Angrily Lectures Audience Member For Not Wearing a Mask While Not Wearing a Mask
“It’s okay when we do it!”

Broadway star Patti LuPone launched an angry rant at an audience member for not wearing a mask properly during a Q&A session, despite the fact that neither LuPone or any of her colleagues were wearing masks at all.
LuPone was appearing alongside her “Company” costars at the American Theatre Wing when she appeared to target a woman sat near the front for not wearing her face mask over her nose.
“Put your mask over your nose. That’s why you’re in the theater,” LuPone screeched.
“That is the rule. If you don’t want to follow the rule, get the fuck out. I’m serious, she added while gesticulating aggressively. “Who do you think you are if you do not respect the people sitting around you?”
When one audience member dared to respond, “I pay your salary,” LuPone shot back.
“You pay my salary? Bullshit!” Chris Harper pays my salary,” she said, referring to the show’s producer.
No one in the audience pointed out the ultimate irony – LuPone was lecturing everyone else in the room for not wearing a mask properly while she wasn’t wearing one at all, and neither were any of her colleagues.

— Ian Miles Cheong (@stillgray) May 12, 2022
LuPone previously missed 10 performances earlier this year after testing positive for COVID-19, despite being fully vaccinated.
As ever, LuPone responded by thanking the vaccine.
During a previous appearance on The View, the actress also demanded that mask mandates in theaters be kept in place for much longer.
“Just because those theaters are old, the seats are close, and we’re not out of this,” she said.
As we have exhaustively highlighted, there is no scientific evidence that masks have any measurable impact on stopping the spread of COVID-19, but they have been more successful in stunting the cognitive development of babies and toddlers.
The UK government’s own investigation found that the evidence for the efficacy of face masks stopping the spread of COVID-19 in schools is “not conclusive.”
According to University of Oxford Professor Jim Naismith, when England dropped face mask mandates back in July and Scotland maintained them, it made “no meaningful difference” to infection rates.
We previously highlighted the comments of UK government SAGE adviser Dr Colin Axon, who dismissed masks as “comfort blankets” that do virtually nothing, noting that the COVID-19 virus particle is up to 5,000 times smaller than the holes in the mask.
“The small sizes are not easily understood but an imperfect analogy would be to imagine marbles fired at builders’ scaffolding, some might hit a pole and rebound, but obviously most will fly through,” Axon said.
Given that the event was a Q and A, and not a theatrical performance, LuPone and her colleagues could have easily all worn masks, but chose not to, while imposing the rule on everyone else in the room.
Apparently, they’re better than you, and different rules apply.

Lockdown Advocate Admits Negative Impacts Were Never Considered
Another technocrat flees the sinking narrative.

Published
5 days agoon
12 May, 2022
A professor who advocated for longer lockdowns in his role as a SAGE government advisor now admits that the negative impacts of lockdowns were never included in SAGE modeling and that they should have been.
Professor John Edmunds was part of the SAGE team that told the government there would be 6,000 Omicron deaths per day in the absence of another lockdown late last year.
In reality, the death toll never got anywhere near that number as the doomsayers were proven spectacularly wrong yet again.
Now Edmunds admits that the economic harm and the knock-on health effects of lockdown were harms that “in principle” could have been factored into models “but in practice they were not.”
The professor called for an extended lockdown in Summer 2021 and said the government was “taking a risk” by lifting restrictions, but now says some of the alarmist death projections put out by SAGE were “truly eye-watering.”
“The epidemiological model is only one component [of decision-making] and I wondered and I worried that we’d had too much weight,” said Edmunds.
“There is of course an enormous economic impact from many of the interventions and other indirect impacts on psychological health and so on. Now these in principle could be included but in practice they were not,” he added.
“Joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth and all that – but you can’t help feel the recantation is very convenient as we move on from the pandemic and people start to look back with more objectivity at all the crazy, costly things that were done in the name of ‘science’ and at the behest of modellers,” writes Will Jones.
Edmunds is another individual who, having once vehemently advocated for stricter and longer lockdowns, is now having to concede that they were a mistake and is fleeing the sinking ship that is the entire lockdown narrative.
As we recently highlighted, figures from the World Health Organization show that Sweden had fewer COVID deaths per capita than much of Europe despite refusing to enforce strict lockdowns and mask mandates like numerous other nearby countries.
A study published in the Royal Society Open Science journal last month found that lockdowns in the UK caused around 60,000 children to suffer clinical depression.
A major study by Johns Hopkins University earlier this year concluded that global lockdowns have had a much more detrimental impact on society than they have produced any benefit, with researchers urging that they “are ill-founded and should be rejected as a pandemic policy instrument.”
Lockdown advocates were on the wrong side of history, something that should be paramount if health authorities once again try to lock down parts of society when the next pandemic hits, as Bill Gates has virtually guaranteed us will happen.
