New Zealand Says It Will Put All New COVID Infectees & Their Family Members in “Quarantine Facilities”

Authorities in New Zealand have said that they will put all new coronavirus infectees and their close family members in “quarantine facilities.”

The new measure was announced by Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield during a press conference yesterday.

“All cases, confirmed cases, are to be managed in quarantine facilities,” said Bloomfield, adding that the move showed “how serious we are about limiting any risk of ongoing transmission – even in self-isolation and including to others in the household.”

“This will apply to any cases and also to close family members who might be at risk,” said Bloomfield.

In a separate video, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern made it clear that anyone in the quarantine facility who refused to take a coronavirus test would simply be held there for at least 14 days.

Earlier this week, New Zealand took the decision to impose a new level three lockdown in Auckland and a level two lockdown across the rest of the country after just 4 new COVID-19 cases were discovered, with all the infectees being part of the same family.

This led to schools, businesses and restaurants all being closed for a 3 day period which Ardern made clear could be extended.

Before that, there hadn’t been a single recorded case of coronavirus across the entire country for 102 days.

The total coronavirus death toll for New Zealand amounts to just 22 people over the course of the entire pandemic.

In neighboring Australia, police have been given the power to enter homes without a warrant to perform quarantine spot checks.

One wonders what will happen to people in New Zealand who refuse to be held in a government quarantine camp against their will.

The UK government Culture Secretary announced Thursday that “Covid-19 certification” is coming to enable people to attend sports events and go to theatre performances, but in the same breath denied that COVID passports are being introduced.

Appearing on Sky News, Oliver Dowden said that the government is trialling a system to ensure those who can prove they have taken a vaccine will be able to attend mass gatherings.

“We will be testing whether we can use Covid-19 certification to help facilitate the return of sports,” Dowden said, adding it will “help the return of the things that we love.”

Dowden asserted that the certificates “won’t be a vaccine passport”, yet defined them as “a way to facilitate proving” that people have had vaccines, in order to get “more people get into stadiums,” which he described as “vital not just for our sense of national well-being, but to the whole national economy.”

As we have repeatedly covered, the British government has consistently denied that there are any plans for vaccine passports while simultaneously funding schemes to that effect and conducting extensive trials.

Visitors to California Theme Parks Told to Remain Silent on Roller Coasters to Stop COVID-19

No fun allowed.

Theme parks in California are set to re-open next month but visitors are being warned that they’re not allowed to sing, shout, scream or engage in heavy breathing while on rides.

Yes, really.

“The California Attractions and Parks Association (CAPA) advises in the new guidelines for its “Responsible Reopening Plan,” that theme park visitors should avoid activities that increase the spread of COVID-19, such as singing, shouting, heavy breathing and raising one’s voice,” reports People.

Visitors will also be mandated to wear masks on rides in order to “mitigate the effects of shouting,” according to the guidelines.

The rules appeared to be inspired by Japanese theme parks, which also introduced a ‘no screaming’ rule when they re-opened last summer.

From April 1 onwards, theme parks in California are allowed to re-open at just 15 per cent capacity. When Disneyland opens on April 30, only California residents will be allowed to enter.

As we previously highlighted, the CDC itself published a list of guidelines telling Americans not to sing and to limit alcohol consumption during Thanksgiving gatherings.

They followed that up shortly after by also telling Americans to restrict the spread of coronavirus by not cheering during the Super Bowl.

The “new normal” sure looks like a barrel of laughs, doesn’t it?

CNN Forced to Admit Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Refusal to Lockdown Florida is “Paying Off”

COVID death rate and unemployment levels both low compared to Democrat-run states.

CNN was forced to admit that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ refusal to impose strict lockdown measures and mask mandates is “paying off,” with the state recording fewer COVID-19 deaths per capita while the economy is booming.

Unlike states run by Democrat politicians, DeSantis consistently refused to impose harsh pandemic restrictions and has been pilloried for it by the media for the best part of a year.

However, compared to those states, which have recorded higher COVID deaths and face massive economic turmoil, Florida is in such a better position that even CNN has been forced to acknowledge it.

“A year into the pandemic, Florida is booming and Republican Gov. DeSantis is taking credit,” writes CNN’s Jeff Zeleny.

“As many parts of the country embark on an uneasy march toward normalcy, Florida is not only back in business — it’s been in business for the better part of the past year. DeSantis’ gamble to take a laissez faire approach appears to be paying off — at least politically, at least for now, as other governors capturing attention in the opening phase of the pandemic now face steeper challenges.”

“Despite far fewer rules and restrictions, Florida lands nearly in the middle of all states on a variety of coronavirus metrics. The state has had about 3% more Covid-19 cases per capita than the US overall, but about 8% fewer deaths per capita.”

Drew Holden pointed out on Twitter how, as recently as December, CNN was amplifying claims that DeSantis was putting politics in front of lives.

Now they’re having to eat those words.

Florida’s unemployment rate stands at just 4.8% compared to 6.8% in Texas, 8.8% in New York and 9% in California.

“DeSantis suddenly appears to be in a position of strength compared to some of his fellow governors, including many of whom took far more restrictive approaches to the fight against coronavirus that caused a trickle-down effect on the economy,” admits CNN.
