Italian Government Wants Unemployed To Become Social Distancing Snitches

An army of “civic assistants” will be embedded in the population.

The Italian government announced intentions Sunday to create an army of social distancing snitches, saying it will recruit 60,000 people to monitor their friends and neighbours’ activities and make sure they are adhering to social distancing policies.

Reports indicate that the government will reach out especially to the unemployed for the roles, in particular those who have applied for benefits recently.

It wants them to become “civic assistants”, who will report infractions on the use of face masks and other state ordered rules in the wake of the coronavirus lockdown.

The informants will not be given uniforms or badges, and will simply be embedded within the population, meaning anyone could be a government snitch.

It’s not unprecedented in Italy, given that Rome mayor Virginia Raggi has employed a website where Italians can inform on their neighbors if they see them breaking social distancing rules.

The announcement was made by the Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies Francesco Boccia and the Mayor of Bari (Puglia), Antonio Decaro, who serves as the President of the National Association of Italian Municipalities.

“We are gradually entering a new normal where there is a gradual recovery of productive activities and citizens are returning to populate cities day after day,” a statement reads.

Municipalities “will be able to take advantage of the contribution of ‘civic assistants’ to enforce all the measures put in place to counter and contain the spread of the virus, beginning with social distancing.” the statement adds.

“Now is the time to recruit all those citizens who want to help the country, demonstrating a great civic sense,” the statement concludes.

Social distancing snitches, reminiscent of party informants in Orwell’s 1984, have also been employed by authorities in other countries.

“The family had become in effect an extension of the Thought Police. It was a device by means of which everyone could be surrounded night and day by informers who knew him intimately.”

Video: Police Drag Man Out of School Board Meeting For Not Wearing a Mask

“You will have to tase me.”

A video out of South Dakota shows a man being dragged by police out of a school board meeting because he is not wearing a mask.

During a discussion about the school district’s mask mandate, local resident Reed Bender refused to wear a mask after being ordered to do so by Superintendent Joe Graves, who subsequently called the police.

Officers attempted to convince Bender to put on a mask but he refused, telling them, “You’re gonna have to drag me out, guys.”

“This is what you are doing, you’re sowing discord within our communities at every level, it’s disgusting,” Bender tells the school board members.

Bender repeats his assertion that the cops will have to drag him out while another attendee comments, “This is completely absurd…this is an embarrassment to our school.”

The cops then try to drag the man out of the library as he puts up resistance.

One of the officers then grabs his taser, to which Bender responds, “You will have to tase me in front of all these people.”

“This is insane,” another attendee comments as Bender is removed from the room.

“Never in my entire career as a superintendent have I had that happen before,” Superintendent Graves said. “The board said there is a masking mandate and everyone in the school building must wear a mask. We gave the gentleman fair warning of that and offered him a mask. He refused, so the board had to enforce the mandate.”

Police say that Bender hasn’t yet been charged with anything but they are still investigating the case.

Pre-Crime: New Law Would Give Australian Authorities Power to Arrest COVID “Conspiracy Theorists”

Who police think might commit a crime.

A draconian new coronavirus law could give Australian authorities the power to arrest coronavirus “conspiracy theorists” if it’s thought they may commit a crime in the future.

Yes, really.

The new COVID-19 Omnibus (Emergency Measures) bill, which is being debated in the Victoria State Parliament this week, will give local authorities the power to detain people who refuse to self-isolate as well as “conspiracy theorists” and anyone deemed to be at risk of spreading COVID-19 negligently.

A government spokesman told the Age that the measures “could be applied to conspiracy theorists who refuse to self-isolate or to severely drug-affected or mentally impaired people.”
Those detained will be held in quarantine facilities.

“If there is one thing that terrifies increasingly tyrannical governments, it’s a loss of control of the narrative, which is why the Australian government is getting a jump start on curbing any so-called “conspiracy theorists” daring to spread information that questions the fear-mongering being used to keep Aussie citizens under lock and key,” reports Zero Hedge.

As we have exhaustively documented, Australia has become the most authoritarian state in the developed world when it comes to the draconian enforcement of COVID rules.

Police have the power to enter people’s homes without a warrant and also snatch children. Earlier this month, a pregnant woman was arrested in front of her children for posting about an anti-lockdown protest on Facebook.

Numerous people have been violently arrested for not wearing a face mask on the street, while journalists have also been arrested merely for covering anti-lockdown protests. Street markets have also been raided and shut down by riot police.

Now police merely have to suspect that you could commit a crime in future in order to carry out detentions and arrests.

And there you were thinking the Minority Report was just a dystopian sci-fi movie.

We’re living in it.

Video: CNN (Seriously) Claims That Covid Will Spread At Trump Rallies But Not BLM Protests

“At protests many people are aware of the risks and doing everything they can to reduce that risk versus at many of the rallies we are seeing people going in defiance”

In response to criticism that CNN is continuously praising mass gatherings when they are BLM organised, but condemning Trump campaign rallies for breaking COVID restrictions, the network seriously attempted to argue that the Trump rallies are scientifically more likely to spread the virus than BLM gatherings.

On Wednesday, Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh called out CNN’s hypocrisy on this matter, noting that “if people can protest in the streets by the tens of thousands, if people can riot, if people can gamble in casinos, then certainly they can gather peaceably under the First Amendment to hear from the president of the United States.”

Butthurt from this exchange, CNN Newsroom drafted in “medical analyst” Leana Wen, who happens to be a former Planned Parenthood president, to explain why science means COVID doesn’t affect BLM protests as much as Trump rallies.

“It does not care why it is that people are gathering but it does care about the conditions under which they’re gathering,” Wen argued, adding “outdoors much safer than indoors and wearing masks obviously much safer than not wearing masks.”

“I would also in this case would distinguish between the behavior of the participants while at protests versus rallies,” she continued, arguing that BLM protesters are more “aware” of the risks than Trump supporters.

“At protests many people are aware of the risks and doing everything they can to reduce that risk versus at many of the rallies we are seeing people going in defiance,” Wen claimed.

“It’s their behavior during those events. I also worry about what they do after the events. They may not be self-quarantining and testing as then getting tested as they should be,” Wen baselessly conjectured.

She even cited a study carried out in June that found “[T]here have not been surges of infections that have been tied” to protests.

Of course, there is no evidence that Trump rallies are tied to any surges of infections either, but that doesn’t seem to matter because the orange man is bad.

Host Jim Sciutto thanked Wen for “breaking through the fog of confusion and disinformation to lead us back to the facts.”

Diligent viewers were left wondering exactly what facts they’d been ‘led back to’ and questioning why the ‘fog of confusion bullshit’ appeared thicker than ever at the end of this segment.
