Professor: Economic Impact of Lockdown Will Cause More Deaths than Coronavirus

“A bad economy will hurt and kill people in the future.”

Peter Nilsson, a professor of internal medicine and epidemiology at Lund University, warns that the economic devastation caused by lockdowns will cause more deaths than the coronavirus itself.

Nilsson was commenting on Sweden’s approach to coronavirus, which unlike virtually every other western country in the world didn’t impose a lockdown to fight COVID-19.

The tactic appears to have worked, with Sweden’s ‘R’ rate of infection being roughly the same as the UK’s, a country which did impose a lockdown. The country also now has much more widespread herd immunity and didn’t sacrifice its economy, meaning deaths from poverty will be reduced.

Opining that he thinks this will “prove to be a good strategy in the long run,” Professor Nilsson said the approach had succeeded in preventing a spike in unemployment.

“It’s so important to understand that the deaths of COVID-19 will be far less than the deaths caused by societal lockdown when the economy is ruined,” said Nilsson.

“Why? Because of unemployment and all the social problems with it. A bad economy will hurt and kill people in the future.”

Mikael Rostila, professor at the Department of Public Health Sciences at the Stockholm University, echoed Nilsson’s sentiments in arguing that Sweden is now in a much better position than other countries.

“Sweden could reach heard immunity earlier than other countries which means that the spread of the virus and the number of deaths will decrease since a majority of the population will be immune,” said Rostila.

“Other countries that start to reopen now may experience a second wave of the virus. So it might be that they have just postponed a severe outbreak.”

As we previously highlighted, a data analyst consortium in South Africa found that the economic consequences of the country’s lockdown will lead to 29 times more people dying than the coronavirus itself.

Meanwhile, people across the United Kingdom are demanding their own lockdown be continued indefinitely, with the hashtag #KeepTheLockdown trending number one on Twitter.

Man Says “I Have COVID,” Spits at Hikers For Not Wearing Masks

Logic malfunction.

A man who was angry at a pair of female hikers for not wearing masks spat at them before claiming, “I have COVID.”

The video clip shows the man walking up to the pair before he spits towards them and says, “I have COVID, I’ve been tested positive,” before spitting at them again.

“Are you OK?” asks one of them women, to which he responds, “no”.

Throughout the encounter, what appears to be the man’s wife is frantically calling on him to end the confrontation.

According to the The Ashburnham Police Department, the man had told the women it was the “law” to wear masks and that they were “irresponsible” for not doing so.

A longer video provided to CNN apparently shows the man asking, “You’re not wearing a mask?”

“I don’t care, I’m not gonna wear a mask when I’m outside,” responds one of the women.

After he spat at them, the man also called the women “completely arrogant.

“The man could face a misdemeanor charge of assault and a charge of false threat of a biological agent, which is a felony,” reports CNN.

OK, there’s a lot to unpack here.

First of all, this guy has obviously being driven crazy by hysterical media propaganda about COVID.

Secondly, he’s not even wearing a mask over his face when he confronts the women.

The irony of him asserting the women are being “irresponsible” by not wearing masks as he literally spits at them doesn’t need to be explained.

Face masks are now legally mandated in all outdoor areas in Massachusetts and there is no exemption for people who are exercising or hiking, despite the fact that this could actually pose a serious health risk.

Head of WHO Suggests COVID Restrictions Will Continue Even After Vaccine

Welcome to the new normal.

The head of the World Health Organization has suggested that coronavirus restrictions will continue even after a vaccine has been made widely available.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made the comments on Twitter after news broke of several new vaccines said to be effective in fighting COVID-19 coming closer to fruition.

“Since the beginning of the #COVID19 pandemic, we knew that a vaccine would be essential for bringing the pandemic under control. But it’s important to emphasise that a vaccine will complement the other tools we have, not replace them,” said Ghebreyesus.

He went on to add that quarantines, surveillance, contact tracing and other measures would all be continued even after vaccine uptake becomes widespread.

As we have exhaustively highlighted, numerous other prominent individuals have asserted that rolling lockdowns, mask wearing, social distancing and other restrictions are here to stay after the pandemic is over.

In his book Covid-19: The Great Reset, World Economic Forum globalist Klaus Schwab asserts that the world will “never” return to normal, despite him admitting that coronavirus “doesn’t pose a new existential threat.”

A senior U.S. Army official also said that mask wearing and social distancing will become permanent, while CNN’s international security editor Nick Paton Walsh asserted that the mandatory wearing of masks will become “permanent,” “just part of life,” and that the public would need to “come to terms with it.”

Commenting on the issue, Joseph Massey said Ghebreyesus’ statement re-affirmed the fact that COVID lockdowns are more about “social engineering” than ending a pandemic.

“I’m not a conspiracy theorist, nor am I a COVID denier, but people like this make it difficult not to believe that lockdowns are more about social engineering than they are about stopping the virus,” he tweeted. “A vaccine is not a “complement” to being isolated and muzzled like an animal.”

Qantas Airways CEO Says COVID Vaccination Will be Mandatory For Travel

“We will ask people to have a vaccination before they can get on the aircraft.”

The CEO of Qantas says that the COVID-19 vaccine will be mandatory for anyone boarding his flights and that this will become the norm for all international travel.

“We are looking at changing our terms and conditions to say, for international travelers, that we will ask people to have a vaccination before they can get on the aircraft,” said Alan Joyce.

“I think that’s going to be a common thing talking to my colleagues in other airlines around the globe,” he told Australian news program A Current Affair.

Qantas will only resume flights to the US and the UK once a jab comes to market.

As we previously reported, airlines across the world are likely to introduce similar measures once the coronavirus vaccine is widely available.

“Three global alliances representing 58 airlines are pushing governments to allow widespread COVID-19 testing of passengers instead of existing quarantine restrictions that they argue are ineffective and have killed travel demand,” reported Axios.

The system would likely be organized under the auspices of CommonPass, a program sponsored by the World Economic Forum, which is pushing for a post-COVID “Great Reset” that would transform the world.

Ticketmaster is also considering introducing a system where customers have to prove they’ve taken the vaccine before being allowed to buy tickets for music and sports events.
