Professor Warns Cancer Deaths Due to COVID Disruption Will Be Greater Than Deaths From Coronavirus
400 cancers a week being missed because people are not getting hospital treatment.

A professor at King’s College London has warned that there will be more excess cancer deaths over the next 5 years than the number of people who die from coronavirus in the UK due to the disruption caused by the coronavirus lockdown, which is preventing cancer victims from getting treatment.
Richard Sullivan, professor of cancer and global health and director of its Institute of Cancer Policy, said: “The number of deaths due to the disruption of cancer services is likely to outweigh the number of deaths from the coronavirus itself over the next five years.”
Many people are avoiding hospitals, partly due to fear of coronavirus and partly due to the NHS implying that people should stay away so as not to burden doctors and nurses.
This means that routine cancer screenings have all but stopped and there will be a massive backlog once normality resumes.
“The cessation and delay of cancer care will cause considerable avoidable suffering,” said Sullivan. “Cancer screening services have stopped, which means we will miss our chance to catch many cancers when they are treatable and curable, such as cervical, bowel and breast.”
People didn’t suddenly stop getting cancer when the coronavirus outbreak started, but now they are not getting treatment.
One wonders what the point is in allowing such disruption in the name of saving lives, only to lose more lives to cancer in the long run.
“Some stroke and heart attack patients are routinely waiting more than two hours for an ambulance, while 2,300 cancer diagnoses are being missed each week because patients are not going to see their GP or because they are not being referred for urgent tests and scans at hospital,” reports the Daily Mail.

“Another 400 cancers a week are, it is estimated, being missed because breast, cervical and bowel cancer screening has been suspended. For any of these patients, delay can be a death sentence.”
As we previously highlighted, despite many predictions that the NHS would be “overwhelmed” by coronavirus, acute hospital beds across the United Kingdom are four times emptier than normal.
One of the overspill hospitals built to handle with an excess of patients due to coronavirus in the north east remains empty and will never be used.
In addition, the temporary Nightingale hospital in London has “remained largely empty since it opened,” according to HSJ.
Despite all this, the UK government has refused to even suggest when lockdown measures may end.
Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty also said that social distancing measures will have to remain in place until a vaccine is available, something that could take more than a year.
A graph also shows that, when population differences are factored in, Sweden, which hasn’t imposed any mandatory lockdown measures, has virtually the same death rate as England, which has been under lockdown for over a month.

UK Government Advisors Call For MORE Lockdowns
They want to go street by street now…

Advisors to the government in the UK, which has mostly been under varying degrees of lockdowns for more than a year now and is supposed to be emerging from the last of the restrictions, have said that there may have to be further lockdowns in order to stop new coronavirus variants.
The London Independent reports:
…a top scientist advising the government has said local restrictions may need to be reintroduced if surge testing fails to halt the spread of the South African Covid variant.
Professor John Edmunds, an epidemiologist at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, told ITV’s Peston show that if mass testing events, such as those currently underway in Southwark and Barnet in London, “don’t work that well … then it’s possible we’ll have to impose some sort of local restrictions back in place and nobody wants to do it”.
A similar report in the Telegraph notes that lockdowns may have to be localised to different streets to prevent outbreaks of new variants.
Dr Jeffrey Barrett, director of the Covid-19 Genomics Initiative at the Wellcome Sanger Institute told the BBC that shutting down individual streets “certainly could” help prevent the spread of the virus “because one of the trickiest parts of this virus overall is, of course, some individuals who are infected don’t have symptoms and so they can transmit.”
“Trying to use interventions that might stop asymptomatic transmission may well be an important part of keeping outbreaks of these new variants to be as absolutely small as possible,” Barrett added.
He also suggested that there is a “chance” new variants will be “less well neutralised” by vaccines, adding that it is “restrictions” that have helped contain outbreaks.
That rhetoric echos what Prime Minister Boris Johnson said earlier this week when he stated that it is lockdowns, rather than vaccinations that have caused a reduction in cases of the virus:
"The reduction in numbers… has not been achieved by the vaccination programme… the bulk of the work in reducing the disease has been done by the lockdown"

Both government advisors mentioned above also advocated so called ‘surge testing’, yet as noted earlier this week, the vast majority of positive results from rapid testing are likely false:

As we have tirelessly documented, lockdowns are not an effective means of preventing the spread of any virus, and come with many other disastrous consequences.
Many people struggle to accept that lockdowns don't have any impact on Covid outbreaks. After all, isn't it obvious that keeping people apart stops the spread? Here are seven peer-reviewed studies that say no, it's not. https://t.co/jODXsvDpVG

As the UK begins to reopen, we are seeing a further enforcement of restrictions with the likes of ‘COVID marshals’ being put back onto the streets to report people to the police for not properly social distancing.
It appears to be becoming clearer that this nightmare is never going to end.

Nearly Half of Brits Say They Will Struggle to Revert Back to Normal Life After Lockdown
Stockholm Syndrome strikes again.

Nearly half of Brits, including a majority of women, say they will struggle to revert back to normal life after lockdown, with only 37 per cent saying they would not miss anything about lockdown.
According to a YouGov poll, 49 per cent say they will find it hard to “adjust back to how life was before March 2020,” with only 42 per cent saying they would find it “easy.”
56 per cent of women say they will find it difficult and the same figure applies to 18-24 year olds who also said they would struggle compared to just one third would said they would find it easy.
Only 5 per cent say they would find it hard to stop worrying about catching COVID-19, while more than a third say they fear “being out in public with other people/crowds.”
“A separate YouGov poll, also published on Thursday, revealed what Britons would miss about the lockdown, including there being “less traffic and fewer planes, and cleaner air and streets” (11 per cent), “time with family, partner, pets and/or bubble” (eight per cent), and “having more time/A slower or simpler life” (seven per cent),” reports Breitbart.
The results of the survey follow a similar poll conducted by the London Times which found that a “significant proportion” of Brits enjoyed lockdown.
A separate opinion poll conducted last month by YouGov found that over half of Brits said they would miss “many” or “some” aspects of the lockdown.
The figures once again underscore how a majority of people appear to be utterly oblivious to the precedent that lockdown has created, handing government the power to completely restrict basic civil liberties on a whim.
Two separate but similar Aldous Huxley quotes sum up perfectly what we have witnessed over the course of the last 13 months.
“A really efficient totalitarian state would be one in which the all-powerful executive of political bosses and their army of managers control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude,” wrote Huxley.
“The perfect dictatorship would have the appearance of a democracy, but would basically be a prison without walls in which the prisoners would not even dream of escaping. It would essentially be a system of slavery where, through consumption and entertainment, the slaves would love their servitudes,” he also warned.

EPIC Video: Rep. Jim Jordan Demands Answers From Fauci – Is Told ‘Shut Your Mouth’ By Dem Waters
“Do you think that the Constitution is suspended during a virus?”

During a House subcommittee hearing Thursday, Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio demanded answers from White House medical advisor Anthony Fauci to basic questions about COVID restrictions, but was told he was ‘making the matter personal’, that he was ‘ranting’, and to ‘shut his mouth’.
Jordan charged Fauci of flip flopping on restrictions such as masks and distancing, and demanded to know exactly when the mitigation measures would be put to bed.
“15 days to slow the spread turned into 1 year of lost liberty,” Jordan urged, adding “What metrics, what measures, what has to happen before Americans get more freedoms back?”
Fauci responded “I don’t look at this as a liberty thing, Congressman Jordan. I look at this as a public health thing.”
Jordan interjected “well that’s obvious”, after having asserted that Americans’ liberties have been “assaulted” during the past year.
“Do you think that the Constitution is suspended during a virus, during a pandemic? It’s certainly not,” Jordan emphasised.
As Fauci spluttered that “this will end when infections are low,” Jordan again declared “Dr Fauci, over the past year Americans’ First Amendment rights have been completely attacked.”
Rep. Jordan (R-OH) demands Dr. Fauci give him a date for the end of COVID mitigation measures:

When Fauci failed to give any time frame for the end of restrictions, Jordan asked “give us your best guess then”, to which Fauci responded “I just did”.
“Are we gonna be here two years from now wearing masks?” Jordan asked, to which Fauci arrogantly responded “You’re ranting again.”
“Here’s how it works, Dr. Fauci. I get to ask you the questions,” Jordan fired back, adding “You’re the highest paid official in the United States government, you’ve given us your opinion on baseball, on dating apps, on cruise ships, you told us zero masks, one mask, two masks, now back to one mask, I’m just asking you when is it gonna end?”
“You call it ranting, I call it standing up for the Constitution, which I take an oath to uphold,” Jordan passionately proclaimed.
Watch:

Fauci also told Jordan, “You’re making this a personal thing and it isn’t.”
“It’s not a personal thing,” Jordan shot back.
“No, you are,” Fauci whined, adding “That is exactly what you’re doing.”
“You’re making this a personal thing, and it isn’t … my recommendations are not a personal recommendation. It is based on the CDC guidance … we’re not talking about liberties. We’re talking about a pandemic that has killed 560,000 Americans” — Fauci to Jim Jordan pic.twitter.com/Q0TzaaGlAG

When Jordan attempted to continue questioning Fauci beyond his allowed time, Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters yelled from across the room “You need to respect the chair and shut your mouth.”

Jordan’s fiery in your face approach is certainly visually effective, but Americans still don’t have any answers from Fauci to basic questions about restrictions. Indeed, as he told CNN, he believes any such questions are part of “crazy conspiracy theory”.
