Democrats Want To REVERSE Trump’s Travel Bans Despite Coronavirus Spread

Legislation would allow carriers to arrive in US unimpeded

House Democrats have introduced legislation that would undo President Trump’s travel bans from coronavirus stricken areas, despite the fact that the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has said that the impact of the crisis would be much worse had the travel bans on China and Iran not been in place.

Democrats want to strip the President of the authority to implement the bans, introducing a bill titled the “No Ban Act,” which would allow travellers from Wuhan and other infected areas to keep arriving in the US unimpeded.

“This bill imposes limitations on the President’s authority to suspend or restrict aliens from entering the United States and terminates certain presidential actions implementing such restrictions,” the bill  summary reads.

The legislation vaguely says that Trump should only be able to “issue a restriction when required to address a compelling government interest.”

The bill further declares that before any travel ban is imposed, the President would be mandated to “consult with Congress.”

Democratic Presidential contender Bernie Sanders also said this week that he would not impose any travel bans during the coronavirus crisis.

The action flies in the face of advice from Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the NIAID, who told lawmakers during a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing Wednesday that “I believe we would be in a worse position,” had such travel bans not been imposed by Trump.

Fauci’s comments come at the 1:00:39 mark

“Whenever you look at the history of outbreaks, what you see now in an uncontained way and although we are containing it in some respects, we keep getting people coming into the country that are travel-related, we’ve seen that in many of the states that are now involved.” Fauci said.

“We will see more cases and things will get worse than they are right now. How much worse they get will depend on our ability to do two things: To contain the influx of people who are infected coming from the outside and the ability to contain and mitigate within our own country. Bottom line, it’s going to get worse.” he added.

Fauci’s comments regarding travel restrictions have been echoed by The New England Journal of Medicine, which recently reported: “At least on a temporary basis, such restrictions may have helped slow the spread of the virus.”

Trump extended the travel ban Wednesday night to most of Europe (but not the UK) for at least 30 days.

“The European Union failed to take the same precautions and restrict travel from China and other hot spots,” the president said, adding “As a result, a large number of new clusters in the United States were seeded by travelers from Europe”.

Trump’s words, and the announcement of the travel restriction drew anger from some European officials, who reportedly described it as “unbelievable” and “very strange.”

The European Commission and Council issued a joint statement declaring that “The European Union disapproves of the fact that the US decision to impose a travel ban was taken unilaterally and without consultation.”

“The Coronavirus is a global crisis, not limited to any continent and it requires cooperation rather than unilateral action.” the statement continued.

Trump was unwavering in his belief that his administration can mitigate the spread of the virus:

Video: Rand Paul Promises To ‘Find The Paper Trail’ For Lab Leak COVID Origin

“This is the biggest coverup in the history of science”

Senator Rand Paul vowed this week to continue to expose the origins of the COVID pandemic and uncover a paper trail that he is positive will lead back to the Wuhan lab research funded by Anthony Fauci and the National Institutes of Health.

“The entire pandemic, if it came from a lab, the fact that he approved the research and funded the lab would draw culpability to himself.” Paul said of Fauci during an appearance on Fox Business.

“Culpability to all of these people who made the unwise decision to send money to China to do dangerous research. That’s why they steadfastly resist this,” the Senator added referring to his efforts in the Senate.

Paul continued, “If you look at the early e-mails when they first discovered the sequence of this virus, January 31 of 2020, they are quite frightened. There are harried e-mails going back and forth until 2:30 in the morning.”

“All of the initial scientists are saying to him, holy cow. We have looked at the sequence and it looks like it has been manipulated in the lab. In fact, it has a cleavage site. The way the virus gets into the cell, that we do not see in nature, typically, and that Chinese last year ask us money to do that research,” Paul further explained.

“All kinds of alarms and bells went off for a day or two,” the Senator added.

“And then we have another couple of e-mails where Dr. Collins and Dr. Fauci are talking about how they are science, and this would be really damaging to science and the NIH, and all the taxpayer money we get and also to themselves personally,” Paul further stated, asserting “So they began a cover-up.”

“I think it is probably the biggest in the history of science and we will get to the bottom of this. I promise you, there will be a paper trail,” Paul urged.

“Should we win in November, I will use every bit of subpoena power to get every bit of data. We will bring all of the scientists under oath and we will get to the bottom of this,” Paul vowed.

Watch:

Paul recently slammed Fauci for taking the default position of trying to “cover up” his activities, including potentially encouraging social media companies to censor medical information.

The Senator has warned the NIH that it should not attempt to destroy any documents relating to or in the possession of Anthony Fauci as he retires.

Paul has called for restricting the exporting of DNA technology to China in the same way nuclear technology to the Communist regime is restricted, and has revealed in his Senate hearings that there is a committee that is supposed to oversee experimentation with potentially lethal viruses, but that it is above the oversight of Congress.

Despite Biden Declaring Pandemic “Over,” White House Won’t Relinquish Emergency Powers

Administration walks back 60 Minutes remark.

Despite Joe Biden declaring that “the pandemic is over,” the White House stepped in to clarify that this didn’t mean public emergency health powers were being relinquished.

Biden made the remarks during an appearance on 60 Minutes on Sunday.

“We still have a problem with Covid. We’re still doing a lot of work on it. It’s — but the pandemic is over,” he said.

Not for the first time, Biden’s statement was seemingly unplanned, and the White House rushed in to do damage control.

To no one’s surprise, the administration is refusing to give up powers it handed itself by imposing a Public Health Emergency, which will not be lifted.

“An administration official told CNN that the President’s comments do not mark a change in policy toward the administration’s handling of the virus, and there are no plans to lift the Public Health Emergency, which has been in place since January 2020 and is currently extended through October 13,” reports CNN.

In other words, technocratic control freaks will likely renew the powers for winter, during which a rough flu season due to lowered natural immunity and the return of another COVID variant will grease the skids for the latest round of the “100 per cent safe and effective” vaccine.

Biden’s remarks on 60 Minutes “caught some in the administration by surprise,” according to CNN, a regular occurrence whenever Biden veers slightly off script.

Another comment he made during the interview, that the United States would send troops to defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion, also had to be clarified.

A White House official later said that the policy on Taiwan had not changed.

Biden Declares COVID Pandemic is “Over”

Senator calls for “an end to all vaccine mandates.”

During an appearance on CBS News’ 60 Minutes last night, President Joe Biden declared the COVID-19 pandemic to be “over,” right in time for the mid-terms.

“We still have a problem with Covid. We’re still doing a lot of work on it. It’s — but the pandemic is over,” said Biden.

Immediately after Biden’s remarks, Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie insisted that the administration should now relinquish all the emergency powers it has grabbed by hyping the threat of the virus.

“If ‘the pandemic is over’ as Biden says, then all of the President’s emergency powers predicated on a pandemic, all COVID vax mandates, the emergency powers of every governor, Emergency Use Authorizations, and the PREP act should all be voided tomorrow,” said Massie.

Senator Ron Johnson also called for “an end to all vaccine mandates.”

The script appears to have flipped, with the pandemic police state being replaced by permanent war, as Biden pledged to send U.S. troops to defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion.

Some people whose entire identity seems to be wedded to pandemic paranoia desperately countered Biden’s assertion, with #COVIDIsNotOver trending on Twitter.

While the Biden administration may temporarily declare COVID to be over for the mid-terms, don’t rule out them ramping up the hysteria into December and January as the flu season takes hold.
