Rand Paul: Impeachment Charade Could ‘Destroy The Country’

“Democrats don’t like Trump and his demeanor, so they have decided to criminalize politics.”

Senator Rand Paul warned Sunday that the Democrats’ vendetta against the President, and their obsession with impeachment could end up destroying the country.

“You know, we’ve seen the evidence. We’re going to hear the evidence repeated, but we won’t see any new evidence so I think all of America has seen this. We’ve found this is a very partisan exercise.” Paul said, appearing on CNN’s State of the Union.

“There is not any Republicans in the House, in fact, a handful of Democrats that will vote against impeachment in the House. In the Senate, I think all Republicans will vote against the House, and I think two Democrats have a good chance of voting against impeachment also.” Paul continued.

“So I think what we’ve seen is it is just a very partisan thing. This is a disagreement. The people on the Democrats side they don’t like Trump and his demeanor, so they have decided to criminalize politics.” Paul declared.

“I don’t think it’s a good day for the country. I think it’s a sad day because I hope it doesn’t devolve into that every president like in different parts of Latin America where we either impeach or throw presidents in jail because we don’t like their politics. I think that will really dumb down and destroy the country.” Paul asserted.

Elsewhere during the interview, host Jake Tapper was triggered into attack mode when Paul argued that President Trump’s phone call to the Ukraine was part of his duty to uphold a mandate from Congress to ensure foreign aid is being used correctly.

“This isn’t about the Constitution or the president breaking the Constitution. Foreign aid is always contingent upon behavior. In fact, the money we gave them to give to Ukraine, it says specifically in the law he has to certify that they are less prone to corruption. I mean, he was instructed by Congress to do exactly what he asked to be done.” Paul argued.

“So you’re saying that you think that President Trump was actually doing this because he was combatting corruption?” Tapper asked, before continually interrupting the Senator with “examples” of Trump not caring about corruption.

“I think it’s based on opinion,” Paul responded, to Tapper’s ‘facts’.

Articles of impeachment are expected to be passed through the House before the end of the week. The House has yet to set a specific date for the full impeachment vote, but two Democratic leadership aides have indicated that it could happen on Wednesday.

Video: Joe Biden Struggles to Say “America First”

More forgetfulness from Uncle Joe?

A video clip shows Joe Biden struggling to say “America First,” leading to speculation as to whether he is hostile to the phrase or just forgot the words.

Speaking about Trump, Biden stated, “This guy’s whole idea of America,” before pausing. “America on its own has meant America alone, we’re out there by ourselves.”

While some claimed Biden couldn’t bring himself to use the phrase, it’s more likely that he just had another senior moment.

Back in April, Biden managed to remember the phrase “America First,” but then went on to embarrass himself by suggesting such a policy approach would prohibit “economic intercourse around the world.”

Biden’s cognitive functioning has repeatedly been called into question, including last week by White House physician Dr. Ronny Jackson.

“I think that he’s old enough now that he’s having cognitive difficulties and that just happens. It’s part of growing old,” said Jackson. “If [Trump] goes head-to-head with Joe Biden cognitively, there just wouldn’t be much of an assessment. It will be very one-sided.”

Last month, Biden asserted that he is “constantly tested” for cognitive decline.

“Look, all you got to do is watch me and I can hardly wait to compare my cognitive capability to the cognitive capability of the man I’m running against,” Biden declared.

Polls show that 38 per cent of American voters think Biden has “some form of dementia,” including one in five Democrats.

Odds on Kanye Becoming President Slashed From 500/1 to 50/1

Polls show it’s more likely he would take votes away from Trump.

Odds on Kanye West becoming president after he announced he was running in a tweet have been slashed from 500/1 to 50/1.

The rapper made the announcement on Saturday night, tweeting, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION.”

This prompted a big move in the UK betting markets, with Casino.org reporting, “The consensus on West becoming the 46th president of the United States was slashed from 500/1 to 50/1 on his tweet. The reduction alters his odds from 0.2 percent to 1.96 percent.”

Oddschecker also reports that since his tweet, 61 per cent of all wagers on the presidential race have been placed on Kanye, while 25 per cent have gone for Trump in the belief that Kanye running would take votes away from Joe Biden.

While numerous leftists reacted to Kanye’s announcement by expressing anxiety that his involvement in the race, which would likely be as an independent candidate, would take votes away from Biden, the opposite might actually be the case.

A YouGov/Huffington Post poll of 1,000 US adults taken in April 2018, after Kanye started praising Trump, found that just 9% of black Americans and 13% of Democrats said they had a favorable opinion of the rapper, compared to 20% of whites and 34% of Republicans.

A CNN poll conducted the following month found that Democrats had a 12% favorable to 67% unfavorable opinion of Kanye, while Republicans were evenly split, 35% to 35%.

So while 25% of black Americans said they would consider voting for Kanye when asked in September 2015, that sentiment has flipped significantly.

Although Kanye walked back his praise of Trump more recently, he is still loathed by many on the left, as is evident in the video below.

Report: Trump Asks For “No More Of Jared’s Woke Sh*t”

According to a report from Axios, President Trump is done listening to his son-in-law Jared Kushner, telling White House staff he wants “No more of Jared’s woke shit”.

Speaking anonymously, a source claimed that Trump regrets listening to Kushner in the past, and feels that it has cost him vital support among his base.

The final straw appears to have been the recent anti-police sentiment stirred up by rioters coinciding with Kushner’s continued pushing for Trump to get on board with the prison reform bill.

If Trump were to undercut police in any fashion, it could be construed as hypocritical, given his pledge to support law enforcement unequivocally.

The report also notes that Trump listens carefully to Tucker Carlson, who has continually warned of the perils of listening to Kushner’s policy advice.

“He often derides Kushner as a liberal,” Carlson said during a recent fiery segment.

“And that’s correct, Kushner is. But Kushner has convinced the president that throwing open the prisons is the key to winning African American votes in the fall and that those votes are essential to his reelection.” Carlson further warned.

Axios notes that a second senior White House official denies that there is any rift between Trump and Kushner, saying that “Numerous anonymous sources have attempted to provide separation between Jared and the president. They have failed for the last three and a half years. They are not going to be successful today either.”
