After a man was caught on camera and subsequently arrested for trying to tear down a Christian cross from the roof of a Baptist church in east London, the Reverend of the church played down the incident, asserting the vandal was just mentally ill.

The shocking footage, which went viral on Twitter yesterday, shows a man of Middle Eastern appearance trying to pull down a large wooden cross from the roof of the Chadwell Heath Baptist Church in Romford.

After the footage was viewed by over a million people on social media, police announced that they had made an arrest and that the matter was being investigated.

We are a Christian country and our culture is under assault.

The video prompted fresh debate over the precarious state of Christianity and the sanctity of churches located in areas such as east London, which is host to a large immigrant and Muslim population.

However, instead of defending the faith, Rev. Greg Thomas, the minister of the church, responded to the incident on Facebook by asserting the vandal was merely suffering from a mental illness and made no mention of the incident being a possible religious hate crime.

“Yes, the cross was vandalised,” wrote the Reverend. “However, when I caught him it became apparent very quickly that he was not at all mentally well.”

The Reverend added that he was pleased the vandal didn’t fall off the roof and hurt himself and that he will now be assessed and “hopefully receive the help he requires.”

“It was frustrating to have the church vandalised but material things can be fixed with ease. Had he lost his life that would have been tragic,” said the Reverend.

One wonders what the media’s response would have been if a white man had attacked a mosque in east London.

It’s extremely doubtful his actions would have been excused by merely labeling him “mentally ill”.

A 15-year-old student in Sweden was banned from wearing his Christian cross for a school photograph despite the fact that other students were allowed to wear their religious symbols.

The boy said that he was wearing a long chain with a metal Jesus cross as the pupils were being organized for a group photo.

He was then told by the female photographer that he would have to remove the cross because it could be “offensive” to others.

None of the Muslim students who were wearing headscarves for the photograph were asked to remove their religious symbols.

“I’m not the type who likes to quarrel. I gave her a meaningful look, so that she understood that I thought it was strange. I know that those who wear a veil did not have to take it off. Of course, I wish nothing that that would happen. But if I was forced to take off my cross, the same should apply to other religious symbols,” the boy told Christian newspaper Dagen.

The principal of the school subsequently blamed the photographer for her mistake and the incident has been reported to the Discrimination Ombudsman (DO) and the Children and Pupils’ Ombudsman.

As we have previously highlighted, religious bullying of Christian children who live in areas of Europe that are increasingly being subsumed by mass immigration is becoming a major problem.

Stories such as a girl at a school in Sweden having her pants pulled down and was threatened with rape because she didn’t look “Muslim enough” have unfortunately become commonplace.

A mother in Germany whose daughter was being bullied by Muslim students because she was blonde, Christian and didn’t wear a headscarf was also told by the headmaster of a school in Frankfurt to cover her up with a hijab.

In areas of some cities, young white women have also taken to wearing Islamic headscarves to prevent sexual harassment by Muslim men.

A 19-year-old Swedish man who was stabbed to death by a Sudanese migrant while trying to prevent the culprit from raping his girlfriend was targeted because the migrant thought he was “racist” for owning a Sweden Democrats cap.

The results of the police investigation into the incident, which occurred in Härnösand on May 10 this year, have now been revealed.

A group of migrants entered a house party uninvited before 23-year-old Abubaker Mohamad Awad noticed the SD cap. Sweden Democrats is a right-wing populist party that opposes mass immigration.

Having repeatedly entered the bedroom of 19-year-old Tommie Lindh’s girlfriend where she was trying to sleep and being told to leave, Awad then pointed a knife at her while accusing Lindh of being a “racist” for owning the cap.

Awad then demanded the girl stand up or he would kill her and Lindh.

The migrant then held the knife to the girl’s throat and orally raped her in a bathroom. When Lindh tried to intervene, Awad stabbed him in the neck, back and chest. He subsequently died from his injuries in hospital.

“While the 19-year-old was bleeding, the African forced the woman to go to one of the bedrooms where he raped her. If she did not come along, he would cut her as well,” reports Fria Tider.

Despite the young woman making repeated emergency calls to police, it took them over an hour and a half to arrive.

After police arrested Awad, “he laughed in front of the camera at the arrest, made grimaces and victory signs with his fingers.”

The rape victim subsequently told friends, “He raped me. I do not want to live anymore.”

It was subsequently revealed that the Sudanese migrant, who was granted Swedish citizenship in 2011, had a long criminal record, including a 2015 conviction of raping a girl under the age of 15.

Meanwhile, in a 2017 Facebook post, Mohamed outlined his views about the fairer sex by posting, “I say no to violence against women and girls.”

Oh, the horrific irony.

As we have exhaustively documented, Sweden has a massive rape problem due to its total failure to integrate migrants and ‘refugees’ after sustained years of mass immigration.

Violent crime and sexual assaults have significantly increased since the country accepted a new wave of migrants in 2015.
