“Every politician in Washington is trying to manipulate Ukraine to their purposes.“
Senator Rand Paul argued Sunday that President Trump is within his rights to to withhold aid from any country that he believes corruption is taking place in, and that charges of quid pro quo against the White House are misplaced.
Transcripts from the House impeachment inquiry have revealed that several administration officials believe Trump tied military aid for Ukraine to the nation opening investigations into Joe Biden and the 2016 election.
“I think we’ve gotten lost in this whole idea of quid pro quo,” Paul said on NBC’s “Meet The Press”.
“If you’re not allowed to give aid to people who are corrupt, there’s always contingencies on aid.” Paul continued.
“Even President Obama withheld aid, you know, he was supposed to give lethal aid. Congress said, ‘Give them $300 billion in lethal aid,’ and he sent them blankets.” Paul said.
“Presidents since the beginning of time have resisted Congress and there’s been this sort of back and forth jockeying over what is sent. But also, presidents have withheld aid before for corruption. I think it’s a mistake to say, ‘Oh, he withheld aid until he got what he wanted.'” The Senator added.
“If it’s corruption and he believes there to be corruption, he has every right to withhold aid,” Paul urged.
However, Paul, who will act as a juror in the Senate trial if Trump is impeached by the House, also argued that it is a “mistake” for the Trump administration to argue that the president didn’t engage in a quid pro quo.
“Every politician in Washington other than me, virtually, is trying to manipulate Ukraine to their purposes.” he said.
“Menendez tried it, Murphy tried it, Biden tried it, Trump’s tried it — they’re all doing it. They are all trying to manipulate Ukraine to get some kind of investigation, either end an investigation or start an investigation.” he declared.
Paul also noted that he opposes aid to Ukraine altogether.
“I wouldn’t give them the aid because we don’t have the money,” the senator said. “We have to actually borrow the money from China to send it to Ukraine, so I’m against the aid and I think it’s a mistake to do the aid so I wouldn’t have played any of these games.”
White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham has argued that the transcripts from the hearings actually exonerate Trump.
“These transcripts are actually … good for the president,” Grisham stated last week.
Odds on Kanye Becoming President Slashed From 500/1 to 50/1
Polls show it’s more likely he would take votes away from Trump.
Odds on Kanye West becoming president after he announced he was running in a tweet have been slashed from 500/1 to 50/1.
The rapper made the announcement on Saturday night, tweeting, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION.”
This prompted a big move in the UK betting markets, with Casino.org reporting, “The consensus on West becoming the 46th president of the United States was slashed from 500/1 to 50/1 on his tweet. The reduction alters his odds from 0.2 percent to 1.96 percent.”
Oddschecker also reports that since his tweet, 61 per cent of all wagers on the presidential race have been placed on Kanye, while 25 per cent have gone for Trump in the belief that Kanye running would take votes away from Joe Biden.
While numerous leftists reacted to Kanye’s announcement by expressing anxiety that his involvement in the race, which would likely be as an independent candidate, would take votes away from Biden, the opposite might actually be the case.
A YouGov/Huffington Post poll of 1,000 US adults taken in April 2018, after Kanye started praising Trump, found that just 9% of black Americans and 13% of Democrats said they had a favorable opinion of the rapper, compared to 20% of whites and 34% of Republicans.
A CNN poll conducted the following month found that Democrats had a 12% favorable to 67% unfavorable opinion of Kanye, while Republicans were evenly split, 35% to 35%.
So while 25% of black Americans said they would consider voting for Kanye when asked in September 2015, that sentiment has flipped significantly.
Although Kanye walked back his praise of Trump more recently, he is still loathed by many on the left, as is evident in the video below.

Report: Trump Asks For “No More Of Jared’s Woke Sh*t”
Source claims Trump regrets listening to Kushner in the past.
According to a report from Axios, President Trump is done listening to his son-in-law Jared Kushner, telling White House staff he wants “No more of Jared’s woke shit”.
Speaking anonymously, a source claimed that Trump regrets listening to Kushner in the past, and feels that it has cost him vital support among his base.
The final straw appears to have been the recent anti-police sentiment stirred up by rioters coinciding with Kushner’s continued pushing for Trump to get on board with the prison reform bill.
If Trump were to undercut police in any fashion, it could be construed as hypocritical, given his pledge to support law enforcement unequivocally.
The report also notes that Trump listens carefully to Tucker Carlson, who has continually warned of the perils of listening to Kushner’s policy advice.
Tucker Carlson Calling Out Jared Kushner
"No one has more contempt for @realDonaldTrump's voters than Jared Kushner does."
"The President's famously sharp instincts, the one's that won him the Presidency have been since subverted at every level by Jared Kushner." pic.twitter.com/TYunh0REjX

“He often derides Kushner as a liberal,” Carlson said during a recent fiery segment.
“And that’s correct, Kushner is. But Kushner has convinced the president that throwing open the prisons is the key to winning African American votes in the fall and that those votes are essential to his reelection.” Carlson further warned.
Axios notes that a second senior White House official denies that there is any rift between Trump and Kushner, saying that “Numerous anonymous sources have attempted to provide separation between Jared and the president. They have failed for the last three and a half years. They are not going to be successful today either.”
Trump: Joe Biden “Can’t Put Two Sentences Together”
“Whether they like it or not, he’s shot.”
President Trump noted Thursday that it is highly concerning that his Democratic rival for the Presidential election in November cannot even speak properly.
Appearing at a Fox News town hall event, Trump noted that it is conceivable that Joe Biden could become President even though he is not all there mentally.
“Whenever he does talk, he can’t put two sentences together,” Trump said.
“I don’t want to be nice or un-nice. The man can’t speak and he is going to be president, because some people don’t love me, maybe.” the President added.
Trump recalled a number of times when Biden has completely shut down mentally, and his endless gaffes, including recently declaring that 120 million Americans have died from the coronavirus.
If I ever said something so mortifyingly stupid, the Fake News Media would come down on me with a vengeance. This is beyond a normal mistake. Why isn’t the media reporting it? pic.twitter.com/KkuWLkMfp7
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 26, 2020
“That’s a serious error. That is not a permissible type of error. There is something going on,” Trump urged.
“It’s wonderful to say I feel sorry or that’s too bad, because I do, except we are talking about the presidency of the United States, and it is just not acceptable.” he added.
Trump also noted that Biden, if elected, will be completely overrun by the radical left agenda.
“Look, I don’t think that Biden is a radical left, but it doesn’t matter because they’re going to just do whatever they want to do they’ll take him over,” Trump proclaimed.
“He can’t perform … he’s shot, whether they like it or not, he’s shot. The radical left is going to take him over.” the President added.
“A guy like Biden, he’s not going to have any power to do anything about it, and they’re dragging him,” Trump urged.
Elsewhere during the town hall, Trump addressed the continuing unrest in the nation at the hands of “vandals”, “agitators, and “terrorists, in a sense.”
“Democrats think it’s wonderful that they’re destroying our country. It’s a very sick thing that’s going on,” Trump said, adding that “Republicans have to get tougher.”
“I’m telling them all the time, because they’re sitting back. They want to be politically correct. They think it’s terrible to say something bad,” Trump urged, adding “You can’t be politically correct anymore, because we’re really fighting something that’s very dangerous.”
