Online war brewing as Democratic strategists roll out $75 million digital campaign

Two Democratic strategists who worked for Obama’s campaign plan to sabotage President Trump’s 2020 campaign by going to war online with a $75 million digital advertising package.

The New York Times reports that the Obama operatives, working with a nonprofit group called Acronym and a leftist political action committee have revealed plans to “counter President Trump’s early spending advantage in key 2020 battleground states.”

Those states specifically include Michigan, Arizona, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

“If the things that need to happen don’t happen in these battleground states between now and May or June, our nominee will never have time to catch up,” said David Plouffe, who managed Obama’s 2008 campaign.

Plouffe, also a senior adviser to Obama in 2012, added “There is an enormous amount of danger between now and then.”

“If the hole is too steep to dig out of, they’re not going to win.” Plouffe, a member of the board at Acronym, told reporters.

“The gun on this general election does not start when we have a nominee; it started months ago,” Plouffe urged.

Plouffe also still heads up the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, a nonprofit started by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan, a connection that is sure to be taken advantage of by Acronym.

Acronym describes itself as “a nonprofit organization committed to building power and digital infrastructure for the progressive movement.”

The organization boasts that it has “helped elect 65 progressive candidates across the country and in January 2019 launched Shadow, a technology company focused on building accessible, user-centered products to enable progressive organizers to run smarter campaigns.”

It is committed to “investing in digital advertising to educate voters at the local level”.

The organization is headed by Tara McGowan, another Obama reelection campaign strategist, who states that it is her goal to craft a more virulently negative public perception of Trump in the short term.

The group has previously worked with Planned Parenthood, Gun Control groups, and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Acronym has also invested in digital news sites designed to counter online conservative media.

“The steady decline of local news around the country, paired with the rise of misinformation being spread online has been alarming.” McGowan has said.

She claims that the aim is to “deliver factual information and stories to people where they get their news can help fill that void and counter misinformation reaching them online.”

The campaign against Trump will also target social media platforms such as Snapchat, Facebook and YouTube.

Trump has already spent $26 million on Facebook and Google ads, far outstripping the ad spending of every one of his Democratic rivals for 2020.

It is clear that the 2020 campaign is all about the digital infowar.

Odds on Kanye Becoming President Slashed From 500/1 to 50/1

Polls show it’s more likely he would take votes away from Trump.

Odds on Kanye West becoming president after he announced he was running in a tweet have been slashed from 500/1 to 50/1.

The rapper made the announcement on Saturday night, tweeting, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION.”

This prompted a big move in the UK betting markets, with Casino.org reporting, “The consensus on West becoming the 46th president of the United States was slashed from 500/1 to 50/1 on his tweet. The reduction alters his odds from 0.2 percent to 1.96 percent.”

Oddschecker also reports that since his tweet, 61 per cent of all wagers on the presidential race have been placed on Kanye, while 25 per cent have gone for Trump in the belief that Kanye running would take votes away from Joe Biden.

While numerous leftists reacted to Kanye’s announcement by expressing anxiety that his involvement in the race, which would likely be as an independent candidate, would take votes away from Biden, the opposite might actually be the case.

A YouGov/Huffington Post poll of 1,000 US adults taken in April 2018, after Kanye started praising Trump, found that just 9% of black Americans and 13% of Democrats said they had a favorable opinion of the rapper, compared to 20% of whites and 34% of Republicans.

A CNN poll conducted the following month found that Democrats had a 12% favorable to 67% unfavorable opinion of Kanye, while Republicans were evenly split, 35% to 35%.

So while 25% of black Americans said they would consider voting for Kanye when asked in September 2015, that sentiment has flipped significantly.

Although Kanye walked back his praise of Trump more recently, he is still loathed by many on the left, as is evident in the video below.

Report: Trump Asks For “No More Of Jared’s Woke Sh*t”

According to a report from Axios, President Trump is done listening to his son-in-law Jared Kushner, telling White House staff he wants “No more of Jared’s woke shit”.

Speaking anonymously, a source claimed that Trump regrets listening to Kushner in the past, and feels that it has cost him vital support among his base.

The final straw appears to have been the recent anti-police sentiment stirred up by rioters coinciding with Kushner’s continued pushing for Trump to get on board with the prison reform bill.

If Trump were to undercut police in any fashion, it could be construed as hypocritical, given his pledge to support law enforcement unequivocally.

The report also notes that Trump listens carefully to Tucker Carlson, who has continually warned of the perils of listening to Kushner’s policy advice.

“He often derides Kushner as a liberal,” Carlson said during a recent fiery segment.

“And that’s correct, Kushner is. But Kushner has convinced the president that throwing open the prisons is the key to winning African American votes in the fall and that those votes are essential to his reelection.” Carlson further warned.

Axios notes that a second senior White House official denies that there is any rift between Trump and Kushner, saying that “Numerous anonymous sources have attempted to provide separation between Jared and the president. They have failed for the last three and a half years. They are not going to be successful today either.”

Trump: Joe Biden “Can’t Put Two Sentences Together”

“Whether they like it or not, he’s shot.”

President Trump noted Thursday that it is highly concerning that his Democratic rival for the Presidential election in November cannot even speak properly.

Appearing at a Fox News town hall event, Trump noted that it is conceivable that Joe Biden could become President even though he is not all there mentally.

“Whenever he does talk, he can’t put two sentences together,” Trump said.

“I don’t want to be nice or un-nice. The man can’t speak and he is going to be president, because some people don’t love me, maybe.” the President added.

Trump recalled a number of times when Biden has completely shut down mentally, and his endless gaffes, including recently declaring that 120 million Americans have died from the coronavirus.

“That’s a serious error. That is not a permissible type of error. There is something going on,” Trump urged.

“It’s wonderful to say I feel sorry or that’s too bad, because I do, except we are talking about the presidency of the United States, and it is just not acceptable.” he added.

Trump also noted that Biden, if elected, will be completely overrun by the radical left agenda.

“Look, I don’t think that Biden is a radical left, but it doesn’t matter because they’re going to just do whatever they want to do they’ll take him over,” Trump proclaimed.

“He can’t perform … he’s shot, whether they like it or not, he’s shot. The radical left is going to take him over.” the President added.

“A guy like Biden, he’s not going to have any power to do anything about it, and they’re dragging him,” Trump urged.

Elsewhere during the town hall, Trump addressed the continuing unrest in the nation at the hands of “vandals”, “agitators, and “terrorists, in a sense.”

“Democrats think it’s wonderful that they’re destroying our country. It’s a very sick thing that’s going on,” Trump said, adding that “Republicans have to get tougher.”

“I’m telling them all the time, because they’re sitting back. They want to be politically correct. They think it’s terrible to say something bad,” Trump urged, adding “You can’t be politically correct anymore, because we’re really fighting something that’s very dangerous.”
