Classic Books Now Being Published With ‘Trigger Warnings’ at the Beginning

Outrage mobs are ruining everything.

Published

on

Classic books are now being published with trigger warnings printed before that first chapter that warn readers the work may offend modern day codes of political correctness.

Text appears before a printing of Immanuel Kant’s book ‘Kant’s Critiques’ that instructs parents to have a conversation with their children before allowing them to read the book.

“This book is a product of its time and does not reflect the same values as it would if it were written today,” states the text, adding, “Parents might wish to discuss with their children how views on race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity and interpersonal relations have changed since this book was written before allowing them to read this classic work.”

“Imagine this warning in every text of the Western Canon and you have a pretty good picture what the library of tomorrow looks like,” commented the Twitter account that posted the image.

What’s even worse is that writers are now being forced by publishers to sign ‘morality clauses’ that state the publisher can drop them if they become the target of social media outrage mobs.

As Lionel Shriver reveals, the terms state that if there is “sustained, widespread public condemnation of the author,” the publisher can pull the plug.

In other words, we are now giving deranged leftists the power to snuff out literature and art before it can even see the light of day if it transgresses their ever evolving rules on what is deemed politically correct.

WOW! Is this the tastiest protein bar on the market?

NHS Removes References to Women From Advice About Menopause

Doctor slams health body’s pandering to transgender activists.

The NHS has caused controversy yet again by erasing all references to women from an online advice section about the menopause, an exclusively female condition.

The previous language on the NHS website stated, “The menopause is when a woman stops having periods and is no longer able to get pregnant naturally.”

However, the new version has removed all mentions of the female gender in the name of satiating the demands of transgender activists.

“The NHS website provides information for everyone. We keep the pages under continual review to ensure they use language that is inclusive, respectful and relevant to the people reading it,” said a spokesperson for NHS Digital, the agency that runs the website.

Dr Karleen Gribble of Western Sydney University slammed the change, asserting that it puts women’s health at risk.

“The risk of de-sexing this information remains that women who have low English or health literacy may not know that the information applies to them,” said Gribble, a nursing and midwifery expert.

The doctor said that erasing women violates the “basic principle” that public health advice should be specifically targeted towards those most impacted.

“That first sentence of the older version ‘The menopause is when a woman stops having periods and is no longer able to get pregnant naturally’ is really important in signposting to women that they should read further,” she said.

“The fact that some women might have low literacy and not know basic terms is shown by the fact that they included a link to a definition of what periods are in the earlier version,” Dr Gribble said. “In de-sexing the page they have removed the links to further information.”

As we previously highlighted, the NHS also altered its guidance pages on ovarian cancer, removing instances of the word “women” in a move they claimed was intended to be more “inclusive” toward trans, non-binary and intersex people.

British Health Secretary Sajid Javid responded by saying, “I don’t think it’s right,” adding “biological sex matters.”

Javid told Sky News, “You won’t be surprised to know that as a health secretary, I think that your that your sex matters, your biological sex is incredibly important to make sure you get the right treatment, the very best treatment.”

“Pronouns Matter”: Bank’s Attempt to Virtue Signal Backfires

A subsidiary of a £886 billion net worth bank attempted to virtue signal by proclaiming “pronouns matter” alongside an image of an employee wearing a “she/her/hers” tag, but the stunt massively backfired on Twitter.

“Pronouns matter. #ItsAPeopleThing,” tweeted Halifax Bank, which is owned by Lloyds Banking Group, one of the UK’s largest financial services organizations.

The topic immediately began trending on Twitter, with the vast majority of responses not displaying much sympathy towards the bank.

“What if a Halifax employee doesn’t want to put pronouns on their lapel, perhaps because they reject the cult of gender ideology?” asked Simon Edge. “Will they be disadvantaged in any way? Barred from promotion? Fired?”

His response garnered almost 4,000 likes.

Edge linked to a video of a man who said he made the “biggest mistake of his life” by having his genitals removed to become transgender.

“Are your staff able to opt out of this? Or do you sack them if they refuse?” asked Sarah Phillimore.

“Why just pronouns? Why not display your sexuality on there? Your favorite food? Your hometown?” said Eva Kurilova.

Another respondent attacked the bank’s woke credentials, pointing out they pay women 33.5 per cent less than men.

“They said *pronouns* matter. They never said women did,” responded another user.

“Super glad my tax helped prop you up in 2008 so you could vomit a rainbow in my face today,” remarked another in reference to Halifax being bailed out by the government.

“Reality matters more. I can guarantee that the majority of your customers are bored rigid with this and wish it would go away,” commented another respondent.

Despite such woke garbage continually proving to be incredibly unpopular with the general public, banks and transnational corporations just won’t stop doing it.
