France: Statue of Virgin Mary Decapitated

Nearly 900 churches in France targeted in 2018 alone.

A statue of the Virgin Mary was decapitated in a small French village yesterday, the latest in a deluge of anti-Christian attacks in France which numbered almost 900 in 2018 alone.

The statue, located in the commune of Marlhes, was beheaded despite being made of cast iron with metal reinforcements.

According to a report by LeProgres, the vandals “had to be well equipped” to cause the damage. It had already been damaged last year as a result of a fire.

The local resident’s association has vowed to repair or replace the statue. The perpetrators have not been caught.

The incident occurred just 48 hours after the tragic fire at the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris.

As French journalist Maxime Lepante pointed out, while the reaction in the media to mosques being vandalized is one of horror, with the perpetrators being swiftly caught, attacks on Christian sites are met with far less concern.

“Two churches were vandalized per day,” said Lepante, adding, “This government, this regime….including the Pope, including the cardinals, shut their mouth, say nothing when our churches are being vandalized, and in contrast, the minute there is a mosque that has a pot of pork sausage in front of it, there’s immediately arrest and prison for the person who did it….apologies from the whole of France, the stigmatization of racism and so on, it’s an absolutely unbearable double standard!”

There were 1062 anti-Christian acts in 2018 in France, compared to just 100 anti-Muslim acts. Throughout 2018, no less than 875 churches in France were targeted.

Mexico: Furious Farmers Drag Mayor Through Streets For Not Delivering on Campaign Promises

Irate mob kidnaps politician.

Furious farmers in Mexico dragged their local mayor through the streets from the back of a truck for not delivering on his campaign promises.

Jorge Luis Escandón Hernández, the mayor of Las Margaritas municipality in the state of Chiapas, had vowed to improve roads and bring drinking water and electricity to the rural community.

However, having failed to deliver, irate locals kidnapped him, tied him to the back of a pick-up truck and dragged him through the streets as a mob followed.

Shockingly, Hernández suffered no major injuries and subsequently appeared in the local square, vowing to press charges against the Santa Rita community he held responsible.

The gang who kidnapped the mayor also got into a fight with the police, injuring 10 people and leading to 11 arrests.

The area is dominated by left-wing social movements such as the ‘Zapatista Army of National Liberation’ (EZLN) and the ‘National Front for the Struggle for Socialism’ (FNLS).

Erdogan Threatens to Send Millions of Refugees to Europe Over EU’s Opposition to Syria Offensive

“We will open the gates.”

Published

on

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has threatened to send 3.6 million refugees to Europe if the EU doesn’t end its opposition to Turkey’s offensive in Syria.

On Wednesday, Erdogan announced the beginning of ‘Operation Peace Spring’ against Kurdish forces and ISIS terrorists in northern Syria.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker responded by demanding Ankara “must cease the ongoing military operation” in the area.

“It will not work. And if Turkey’s plan is to create a security zone, do not expect funding from the European Union,” Juncker told the European Parliament.

Erdogan responded with a stark threat to flood Europe with refugees if the EU doesn’t back down.

“We will open the gates and send 3.6 million refugees your way,” Erdogan said during a speech to lawmakers from his AK Party.

This is not the first time Erdogan has threatened to use refugees as a weapon.

He has repeatedly invoked the threat, including back in 2016 when the EU tried to freeze talks on Turkey’s accession to the European bloc.

Hong Kong Government Considering Internet Ban to Stop Protests

Mimicking how Chinese authorities routinely block web to stifle unrest.

Published

on

The Hong Kong government is considering an Internet ban as the latest tactic to stop protests and riots that have been ongoing since June.

As violence continues to escalate, a ban on face masks that was put into effect before the weekend failed to keep thousands of demonstrators off the streets who defied the new law.

Now authorities are refusing to rule out blocking the Internet in an effort to stop protesters organizing.

“Currently, the government is considering all possible legal options to halt the violence, which couldn’t rule out an ‘internet ban’ in the future,” Ip Kwok-him, a member of the Executive Council of the local government, said today.

Any such Internet ban would be particularly controversial because Chinese authorities routinely block the web in parts of their territory that are experiencing unrest.

Restricting Internet access would be viewed as more direct interference from Beijing and is likely to stir further anger.

Meanwhile, a protester in Hong Kong explained how the demonstrations have moved way beyond the issue of an extradition bill and are now about the existential survival of freedom in the region.
